Does anyone know if stuff like endo steel chasis, XL reactors or ferro fibreous armour will be included?
While it isn't quite as bad as the clan stuff it still shifts the gamebalance towards ever increasing weapon loadouts
which is a bit problematic imo.
Only thing keeping me from going hyper about this is Crysis engine. I know that if I'm going to play it I'll have to do it on low and very low settings. And CE still works miserable even on low, it just looks like shit. One day in distant future when I upgrade my rig, maybe.
given the setting it's the transition between 3025 tech to 3050 tech, but the advanced L2 kit does not become common until after the clans attack and the industries of the sphere kick it up into "wartime production" (3053-3055 depending on location, elite formations got equipment upgrades much sooner, formations like the Davion Guards where re-equipped by late 3051) so i expect a mixture of mechs from the 3025 TRO and the 3050 TRO.
the TLDR here is that before the battle of Tukayyid in 3052, seeing any sort of Starleague tech in circulation would be rare (most 3050 machines are partial upgrades, trading regular lasers to ER's, adding CASE and FF/Endo Steel that sort of thing), with it becoming gradually more available from that point onwards with the re-equipping done on all "line formations" as part of the lead-up to operation Bulldog.
that does not mean you wont see 3025 designs mucking about in the backwaters of the sphere ofc.
keep in mind the advanced equipment is derptasticially expensive, you can purchase a entire 3025 company for the cost of a 3067 assault mech...

QUESTION: Can you give us a list of weapons and equipment you expect at launch? Or at least what you KNOW will make it as of today? -Sprouticus
ANSWER: The weapon list is every Inner Sphere weapon available in the time frame, and they should all be in for launch. The following is a list of the weapons and equipment available at the time.
Weapons
Ballistic:
AC/2, AC/5, AC/10, AC/20
LB 10-X AC
Ultra AC/5
Gauss Rifle
Machine Gun
Energy:
Flamer
Small Laser, Medium Laser, Large Laser
ER Large Laser
Small Pulse Laser, Medium Pulse Laser, Large Pulse Laser
PPC
ER PPC
Missile Weapons:
LRM 5, LRM 10, LRM 15, LRM 20
SRM 2, SRM 4, SRM 6
Streak SRM 2
Equipment:
Standard and Endo-Steel Internal Structures
Standard and XL Fusion Engines
Jump Jets
Standard and Double Heat Sinks
Standard and Ferro-Fibrous Armour
CASE
Obviously not all of this will be stock, and some things will be harder to get than others. The equipment list is everything that I can guarantee for launch, though we’re likely to also have most, if not all, of the following ready to go:
Artemis IV
Anti-Missile System
Active Probe
ECM Suite
Narc Beacon
TAG
still no word on speciality ammo ?
LRM's dont automagically work with a NARC Beacon, it has to be the correct ammo type, same with Artemis IV systems...
outside that there's several interesting ammo types specifically Inferno(set em on fire!) and Listen-Kill(actively guided LRMs, affected by ECM)...
Can someone remind me please what do Artemis, Narc and TAG do? Its been epochs since I played MW2 and MW3.

Is a laser guidance system that you put in the launcher itself and makes missiles that need locks more accurate

Makes a lance with Catapults very very fun

Lazing for artillery, Arrow IVs and such
Poorly designed mechs can still do awesome things. I love me some RFL-3N but it still objectively sucks.
Compared to other mediums, the hatchetman has the armor of faster mechs with stand-off weapons. It is too slow to dodge fire and want to get into the brawl where most machines tear it to ribbons. As a bonus, it has only 6 head armor so now PPCs and AC/10s headshot you too!
2 slots of ammo in the CT, so every crit to the CT has a 1/6th chance of instagibbing you. Without playing advanced rules, all through armor crits go to the CT...
Hatchet is in an arm with one of the medium lasers, so you can only use one or the other.
Hatchets are the "fucking vertical" of BTech. Does the damage of a kick with less accuracy to anywhere on the hit chart without the built-in forced piloting roll. Also, it takes 3 tons while the kick is built in. Good pilots can try to hit on the punch chart but then the hatchetman is too small to guarantee head crits, let alone head caps.
ima fit a madcat with 4 Clan ER PPCs and a million Clan LRMs and own ur ass
imma spend all my time in an uziel ppc'ing shit. this game is the first thats made me want to replace my ageing sidewinder
Replace my Sidewinder? Never! It was made for Mechwarrior! But this will probably get me to get one of those diy SW-to-USB adaptors.
Reading both this and the MWO forums are hilarious at times.
"Uziel!"
No.
"Bushwhacker!"
No.
"Mad cat!"
No.
"Daishi"
Sorry no.
"RACs!"

"Ultra AC/20!"
You guessed it...nope.
"LB20-X?"
Nooooo.
"Imma gonna make a heavy gauss boat!"
No, no you're not.
And a million more things.
