I actually thought this was the LOL General thread, not jungling. I haven't really played him in jungle much, mostly top.

Skarner massively stronger than the pony. Pony more amusing, is a pony, ganks are muthafuckin scary to be on the wrong end of if he gets behind you in your lane and very strong if the gank target overextends post-6.

Also, pick skarner, he's just plain better.

Skarner has a lot more CC. Hecarim has more mobility and durability. You want 40% CDR on both because their ultimate's and Hecarim's W are amazing.

Lets put it this way: If you sit in the middle of 5 enemies with a sunfire cape with maxed W on hecarim. You will get 60hp/second regen. And his W heals for ALL friendly damage done to enemies within it's radius. With 40% CDR thats a 4 second god mode on a 4s cooldown. In jungle go QWE then R>W>Q>E

Skarner is a lot easier to force ganks when playing with shitty laners. His Q makes him impossible to get away from without CC or flash. His ult hands your team kills on a silver platter. In jungle go QWQ then R>Q>W>>>>>>>>>>>E. E costs way too much mana for what it does early/mid game.

I usually build Ionian boots, Reverie, and TriForce on both, with 0/21/9 masteries taking the CDR/level and movement masteries.


TLDR: Hec has speed and 4sec on, 4 sec off Godmode provided your team isn't terrible and knows what you are doing., Skarner has good mobility/durabilty too but shines in the CC department and is better for Solo Q imo. When using his ult make sure to do a U turn at the end and you will move your lasso'ed enemy further (about 3 Teemo's worth)

Question: How do you jungle if you get a retard team in Solo Q?

By which I mean starting off. No leash on the mobs or anything. Would it be easier to just hit the lane for a level or two, then head jungle?

No at all. You do not have to start with buff if your jungle champion does have problems kill it without any help. Just go clear smaller camps, get lvls and do buffs then. But i have no idea really, i have never been in a game in which my team won't pull for me when i play a jungler.

if you start cloth and 5 on someone who can jungle well you should be fine even if they dont help.

e.g. nocturne can do cloth and 5 no problem, but if you get a pull you can go boots and 3 and gank faster or you can go further in the jungle without having to go back. cloth + 5 no help = blue to golems, cloth and 5 with help = red, poke at lane and wraiths before backing

obviously you are a lot better off with the help, but if they dont well then its only themselves they are hurting as you will be behind

if you are eu-w just hop on ts and the scrapheap channel when you are playing, theres usually someone around

I'm gonna have to start doing that, yep. I feel I now have a very solid handle on mid and top with multiple champs, so at least feel a bit less terrible (now 15 wins in a row solo Q \o/), but these are 2 roles that simply don't get played really at all sub-30, so it's a bit mysterious.

EU-W is clearly the best, yes.

Is Warwick still viable in jungle? Love the champ, not used him for a bit, and if so can learn the ropes without buying Alistair or Nocturne or the like.

Junglewick is viable, but not great. Pre-6 his ganks are embarrasing, although he's very safe, and few can duel him successfully. Good to learn the ropes, certainly, but look to pick up someone better if you don't already have them (jungle cho in low-elo games, holyy crap.)
