Been testing it today. Highly addictive and basically removes all the main issues I had with LoL (super boring bot laning, turtling under towers, games lost at 10 mins because your mid lane fed)
What do you think of it ?
WAT IS IT
Dominion is a capture style map, means there is no towers/nexus to destroy but instead you need to secure and hold cap zones to reduce the enemy's Nexus hp (and win when it gets to 0) Games are fast-paced, favor ganks and small fights instead of boring farming and 5v5 teamfights.
GAMEPLAY
Le map
1 : Nexus.
2 : Cap zones.
3 : Speed buffs
4 : Health packs. These spawns at 2.00 and respawn every 30 secs
5 : Shield buffs. 1 available per team, need a 2 sec channel to pick one up. It gives you extra hp and reflects a % of 1 tick of damage every 4 secs (think thornmail but also works on magic damage). I'm standing on them so you don't see on map
Items, spawning, gold
You start with 1375 gold and lvl3. During all the game you win experience passively and much much more gold than in Summoner's Rift. A champion can complete a full build in 20-25 mins easily. Champion kills don't give a lot of gold and you usually dont have much time to farm creeps.
Items see : http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Dominion/Items . Dominion has new items and you can't use some from Summoner's Rift like Banshee. "Prospectors" items replace Dorans but can't be stacked. They cost 920.
NO WARDS/WRIGGLES
Capping and winning
Each team starts with 500 Nexus hp and no capture points.
To cap a point, you need to right click it to start a channel. Your champion will be unable to move or use any skill while capping, but you can cancel at any moment (exactly like ONS maps in UT2004 with the Link Gun) ; also taking damage cancels capturing . It takes around 8 secs to cap a point, less if you have more players capturing, more if it was previously owned by the enemy.
The second a team has more points than another, the other team starts loosing Nexus hp.
If team A has 3 points and B 2, B looses 1 Nexus hp every second
If A has 4 and B 1, B looses a bit more (Like 1,5/sec)
Killing an enemy removes 2hp to their Nexus
[i]Creeps[i]
They deal slightly more damage than usual, also each wave or so has a bigger creep that replaces the cannon minion (and deals more damage). A big enough creep wave can cap a point.
CHAMPS
Obviously anything with high mobility and early/mid game dominance is powerful in this map. Vayne, rammus, poppy, singed etc you get the idea
