In other news Venomancer, really not my hero. My problem is when someone says 'pick something ranged' I immediately think of the ranged carries because...well, they're ranged I guess? But I mean in that game just got zoned to fuck by WR because Veno doesn't have anywhere near her range.

Hold up one second.

Veno is one of the best harassment heroes in the game. 450 range vs 500 range is hardly a reason to get "zoned to fuck." Did you bother to pick up poison sting? At level two it adds +70 damage to your basic attack, easily doubling your harassment damage. At level 4 sting you'll be doing a total of over 200 damage with each attack. On top of that it has a 10% slow which is enough to help you chase or disengage. Land attack to apply the dot, back off, rinse repeat every few seconds. If they stand their ground, land poison gale and win the fight.

Any of the non-carry ranged heroes fare better in that regard?

Not really. Veno is one of the best at lane control/harass. Silencer, drow, or anyone with a long range is good, but veno trumps all with poison sting in the harass department.

Yes, of course I did. I found his animation doesn't really lead to winning any kind of harrass war with someone like WR. Might just be me, I don't know.

wr has a great attack point so can easily poke and back up before low range hero can hit back if their timing is bad

Best champ in gaem I promise. Just have to "get" him. I am torn though, if I like Hellbringer(lolHoN) or Warlock the most. Quad-ulti is funny but hellbringer can EXPLODE in someones face a bit more. And life-void is a bullshit HoN spell. :<
