Like all farms I have an issue with rodents. So I set up a few owl stands hoping that owls would eat the little bastards for me. To seal the deal I put a small strip of chicken on one of the stands each night.
A hawk started showing up in the morning -Goshawk I think - to eat the chicken if it was still there. But the hawk has competition from a family of crows who also want the chicken. To keep the hawk around (my chicken's chicks are kept behind wire and the adults are large enough to be save) I put out some chicken for the hawk. But on some days the crows got it first. Then rather than waiting the birds would come to me after the chicken, then yesterday the hawk landed on my arm.
Talons bloody hurt!.
Normally I would go to my old doctor back in Sydney, but this time I went to a local GP. The Guy was Indian, originally from Bengal I found out, who seemed rather confused about why a hawk atttacked me. Then he commented that a Tiger had eaten his Grandmother back in India.
Strange days indeed.
