    yet the PKM is a hilariously reliable LMG and actually pretty cleverly designed.



    not sure i agree with Ian's assessment that it's the best GPMG ever, nothing quite makes people duck like the buzzsaw, but it's definitely not a bad one.

    People give lots of lip for the only continued military use of a rimmed cartridge but it's actually advantageous in PKM and a non-issue in low capacity box magazines such as the 10-round SVD one.
    PKM is all you expect of a russian gun - simple, rugged, reliable, borderline elegant.
