I've actually been considering getting a handgun or rifle. However, FPSes are poor teachers for realistic gun ownership. Further, It seems like ranges around here are expensive in the hellhole that is Denton, TX.

I found out a community college offers a CCW permit course coming up in july for 2 days and $75. Other than that, I'm not sure where to start in getting a basic gun to learn on. When I was in Boy Scouts i learned to shoot on a .22 Winchester bolt action which was a lot of fun, but I've no idea what a good price for shit is.

Tl;dr: clueless about guns but want one

I have* a Pennsylvania Rifle replica that was built for me when I was eleven. Haven't shot it in years because it's way too small for me now. Need to get a newer one made for me at some point.

    * Still live with my folks and my mom's not comfortable with it in the house, so it's in another state with the relative who bought it for me.

From left to right- Mosin-nagant, yugoslavian m48 mauser, and a british enfield no.4 mk1*. There's also another mosin off in the corner.

I also have a bunch of other guns in the safe that I can't be assed to take pictures of.

Russian SKS, AK-47, Remington 870, AR-15, Two colt 1911s, Semi-auto Saiga, CZ99 pistol, and a dozen or so other pistols I can't remember off the top of my head.

When I was a child, my mother was (and still is) so against guns that she wouldn't even let us have water pistols. /o\

She got a BB handgun to chase off squirrels, put it on the highest shelf in her closet, and locked it up. I was 16 at the time.
