You need to work on your backgrounds. They're uninspiring, dull or distracting. Try to have just the wall behind for starters?

Other than that I do like the expressions, focus is nailed, albeit they look a bit stiff. It's your job to make them loosen up, be comfortable having their picture taken.

Honestly, look up Humans of New York on fb. Technically the photos are okish, nothing really special, but what the pictures tell you is incredible. It's because social engineering people into being comfy and opening up to the camera can yield fantastic shots.

On the second person it looks like the focus is ~2cm behind his eyes.
You have a "Please focus on eyes" funktion that you map to one of your back buttons.

1/30 is maybe a lot of low.

That function is how you don't learn photography.

Use one focus point, back button af, reframe, shoot, repeat until results satisfactory ^^

That makes me kind of angry.
Why is focus point and reframing all the damn time "better" then "fokus on eye/head"?

Because it makes you think and implement it into muscle memory. Also because af points aren't equal in focusing speed and you always want to use the fastest. And you don't want to crop 500 pictures per session.

Yes, and why would you want to reframe again and again?
Just frame once, keep focus on eye/face and keep shooting. Even if you or the model moves you don't have to do the stupid reframe dance. (Use one focus point, back button af, reframe, shoot, repeat)
