scrambled eggs. I have litterally thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment in this place but always just use my cellphone. They look over cooked in that picture. They were not.

I'm sorry but if your scrambled eggs are separated out into bits, then they are in fact overcooked.Originally Posted by Jason Marshall

how my grandma made them. They are in bits cause I poke them with a spatula so i can wrap them in bacon easier.
I wouldn't eat eggs like that but then i cook them the way my gran taught me, sloppy with loads of butter at the start and end of cooking. My GF wont eat my eggs and prefers them like yours. Horses for courses.
Yeah, I have that problem too. She says it's degrading and tastes funny.Originally Posted by Bin Matar

Matar where do you get most of your recipes just picked em up over time? Always wanted to actually cook something proper as opposed to just dull as fuck dinners you could sleep your way through.
I know oyu didnt ask me. But Allrecipies.com is awesome, just type in the ingredients you have on hand or something specific and youll get a few recipies. generally really good instructions too.
Well it's not as though I'm going to tell everyone else to fuck off die because they're name isn't Bin Matar, simply mentioned him for the Jolin mancrush factor.Originally Posted by Jason Marshall

My personal recipe heaven is fxcuisine.com, the (now abandoned, it seems, but there's still dozens of awesome recipes there) home of a slightly nuts Swiss guy who makes truly awesome stuff.
Lots of places to be honest. I probably buy a new cookbook every month along with Tv magazines etc. Most of my family get me cooking related stuff for birthdays etc as they know its a safe bet. I tend not to follow recipes to much but will read several different methods of cooking a dish to get an idea of the overall shape of the thing then put it together on the fly. If you're new to cooking then recipes can give you confidence, but unless its baking or a cuisine you are unfamiliar with then you defiantly learn more doing it your own way. My GF is a good cook but you take her recipe book away and shes going to struggle.
When it comes to finding recipes online i try to find a site based in the area the cuisine comes from rather than an international\US\Uk site. The Jerk recipe was from the blog of a Jamaican Chef working on the island. Im guessing he probably knows his jerk better than some fat Betty writing for about.com or the food network.
Have to post although no pics, but I just tried something and me and my stomach are very happy that it worked out.
I had: Asparagus and didn't feel like eating "standard" asparagus. I also found some spinach (already sieved) in the freezer, so I just enhanced wrapped spinach pancakes by putting the asparagus (cooked ofc) in there.
Test pancake w/o cheese is nom, now to put the ones with cheese inside in the oven to gratinateCan't wait.
edit: It's good. Already thinking about how I can pimp them next time I do this. Took pics but they are boring.
In the oven atm: Filled peppers which I won't eat (today) because the leftover filled pancakes were enough. Which means LUNCH OF THE PUSZTA GODS at work tomorrow.
no pics, no care
So the creme fraiche + white wine + grated parmesan combo works pretty well with pasta. Add vegetables to taste. Tried chopped asparagus, chopped zucchini + ham, minced leek. Quick, cheap, easy, good.
Standard and always nice, however with asparagus I would really recommend to turn it into a risotto. Could eat myself to death with a good asparagus risotto OOOOMNOMNOMNOM

20 ish cold cooked new potatoes from day before diced
half a can of corn
couple of red onions sliced
tspn cumin
tspn coriander powder
tspn turmiric
tspn chilli powder
tspn salt
or a big tblspoon of curry powder would do the job of the spices tbh.
bunch of fresh coriander
clove of garlic and 1/2 thumb of ginger finely grated
couple of handfuls of gram flour
Make the batter out of flour and water. You want it fairly thick . Add all the spices and mix well then add veggies . Shallow fry till golden on each side
Last night's dinner with boyfriend person: Cheese, wine and DS9. Yeeeeeah.
Consisted of aged provolone, vinage farmhouse cheddar, brie, with grape tomatoes, green apples, fresh whole wheat baguette, and salami.

Easy to make, just garam (chickpea) flour, spices and whatever you want to add really.
Tried a bit harder with the photo for this one as it was a nice looking bowl of food
Asian chicken noodle soup with sriracha and hoisin
