Here in Australia we have this tradition of putting a slice of beetroot on burgers. At first I was pretty hesitant, but tbh now I've tried it I'm never going back. beetburgers 4 lyf.

Unless it's a terrible soggy convenience store burger and the purple shit drips through the bun, down your hand and stains your sleeve. That's pretty annoying.

Talking about beetroot: Beetroot, Apples and Matjes as a starter

Salmon, Cucumber and potato mash (too much oil in the pan so messed up the salmon)

Awesome looking meals there mate. All my nice plates have been for guests recently so i haven't had the chance to get the camera out and set up a proper shot.

It seems like all i get the chance to photograph is pizzas and junk food atm.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

So today I wanted sardines for lunch but market had none. Went with tuna with white beans and lots of cilantro. Always feel slightly bad when eating tuna... but its yummy.

For dessert I had my first try on my own version of a black forest gateau. Don`t do lots of sweets... guess it shows. Anyway learned a lot about what not to do. Things went really bad when the white kirsch mousse wasn`t set properly and I had to redo the layer composition while the ice cream was melting (always a problem with home made ice cream). Also chocolate ganache piece was far too thick as was the chocolate sponge.

A variation of this chicken and cashew stir-fry recipe, with added green beans and chili garlic wok sauce and chicken breast instead of chicken thighs. Is delicious.

J'ai violé votre vaisseau spatial. C'était amusant....!

EVE once was about internet spaceships. Then those became serious business.
Now all that is left is serious business, and spaceships are docked for two years till after the Dust of Incarna

Sounds and looks yummy with the cashews.

Its hard to understand that people eat so much frozen/canned food even at their days off. So easy to cook fresh and delicous food within 30-40 minutes.

Frozen vegetables aren't bad at all, canned is almost universally bad. In fact, during the off season, I do use a lot of frozen "summer" vegetables. But yes, when they're in season I like to sauté or steam them. Squeeze of citrus and a pinch of salt and I'm in heaven.

    Great pictures guys.

The one exception to this that I have found is that canned spinach actually works better for a saag curry than fresh.

For people on a budget and also who dont know when they will be home (ie stuff might go off) then frozen veg are the king. I guess they lose some of their nutrients and shit but I find a bag of frozen peas and brocolli mean I also have some green back up available.

Also keeping bags of frozens summer berries + banana slices is pro for instantly fufilling smoothie cravings

Oh I agree on the frozen veg. In fact I will use frozen peas for my next dish to post.

I am irritated by people eating premade frozen / canned food/meals instead of spending a few minutes of their time in the kitchen. Anway, more pictures on saturday.

Frozen stuff is pretty much fine. The problem with the canned and pre-prepared stuff is that they tend to chuck in salt as a flavour enhancer and preservative and then sugar to hide the salt.
