It's a eve war, nothing really ever happens during them.
Every nullsec entity in EVE bar Volta and the Freemen (Rote Kapelle, etc) declares war on the Imperium. Imperium space mostly slowly glassed in ultra low risk :easymode: 3:1 numbers advantage. 1DQ capital constellation (Constantinople in this metaphor) is fortified to fuck and all the Imperium supercapital fleet is concentrated in there since about April. AllOfEVE make some attempts to anchor staging Azbels or reinforce jammers/ihubs and get murdered but literally thousands of fighters every time. They fuck around for 4 months while their participation dissolves like a sandcastle vs the incoming tide. Now they only have about 1.2:1 and it's clearly not enough. They play the hype-pipes real loud in an effort to drum up numbers last weekend. Don't get them so the Big Event is that they're almost ready to start, they're waiting on FRT to redeploy their capital fleet back from the North. FRT capital fleet gets Snuffed in Hakonen and FRT say their deployment is cancelled. No serious attack on 1DQ constellation made despite hype-piping. - Every EVE 0.0 war since the pos spam of NC (well, at least with the spam you got killmails once in a while after grinding the dickstar down)
0.0 wars haven't been about running out of money and ships for ages, they are purely about who gets bored first, unless the forces are way way out of balance and the smaller side isn't over the "let's make the node unplayable" threshold.

We (INIT) haven't been bored. We've had more content than we know what to do with. Vily tried to turn papi into a caricature of what he thought goons were in 2014, right down to carrying on with the helldunk or blueballs bit and has apparently been surprised when it's had the same result: dessicated participation to the point where they've almost completely pissed away a 3:1 numbers advantage.
It's late in the game, but at least this shitty strategy has been thoroughly discredited.

Personally I was so fed up and bored then decided to take a eve break. That lasted 5 full days and then the Delve tactical redeployment happened (my words).

Eve is so boring people go out of their way not to play it and then declare victory when the other side's boredom threshold is surpassed sooner. Also everyone chestbeating for the team that used to dunk on them that they joined out of desperation is hilarious.
The only real narrative is trying to convince everyone eve isn't dead.
