What is up with Firefox 89 who just decided to space my bookmarks in such a way that you can almost fit a full bookmark in between two bookmarks? Meanwhile there's a bug thread on Bugzilla where two designers showed up and wrote "it's by design (deal with it)". No setting addresses the bookmarks spacing and atm even with a 1440p display I have to scroll in my bookmarks list after painfully curating it so that I don't have to scroll through it.

Fuck these design ideas with a stick, I know everybody wants to transform computers into oversized phablets but I have a mouse and my eyes are still working

That's one of the problems. All the skins are just recolours, there's nothing "new" or "moved" or "compacted". It's just the same thing.

Imagine blindly updating one of your most critical apps... I saw the FF rumblings even on the official reddit months ago, and ensured I would not autoupdate to this. Though downgrading 1 version shouldn't be difficult either.

Easier than avoiding the mess that Win10 21H1 is causing for rolling back people's GPU drivers to many months old & buggy versions just because it thinks those are the most recent fully signed ones. Seems WHQL is too much of a PITA to actually deliver benefits.

Imagine being paranoid about any of the regular software used and wondering with every update what the hell they're going to fuck up next. I'd rather just switch away from them directly as this design "choice" isn't bound to go away any time soon. Opera GX it is.

Edit: I don't have the time to stalk reddit to see their upcoming fuck ups. I feel this is an adaptation to a dumb attitude to begin with (the developer's attitude). Can't they just be normal? Plus you would want an up to date browser to begin with, no?

Yes Mozilla has been retarded for ages now. But the easiest solution for me seemed to be to simply slow my update rate, to hang back a little from day1 release updates, and let other users gather the likely few obscure about:config changes I'd probably want to apply in seconds. This also gave advanced notice mutterings of which were forecast to be depreciated or useless relatively soon. 89 seems to have no significant security fixes for non-Android 89 fixes here, still no critical, and I'm just considering personal use rather than enterprise rollout, which would also almost certainly be lagged, if not only Long Term Support versions.
I don't see a significant web or browser feature/innovation I'm missing out on, or lack of performance or stability, so no rush to have the latest tagged as release.
And again, one's browser warrants a little more effort that some far less used or impactful app.

A month or two back Windows Update downloaded something that made it so that 50% of the time when the computer sleeps, all audio devices disappear.

I'm not a functional enough human being right now to dig down to figure out what caused it, so I just have to go to Device Manager and scan for new hardware every time which fixes it instantly.

Switched to Opera GX, you can't right click on bookmark folders -> sort. What the fuck.

I posted this back in November when it was new. I just went through all my emails received since then and there's not one single legit email using this "feature", but my junk mail folder is full of them.

This is really annoying to say the least but at a first glance it seems helpful since only spammers use those fields you can easily tell the legit emails apart from spam no?

Yes, they said browser.proton.enabled = false is going away next release. But then this release did go down like a lead a balloon so maybe Proton won't suck when it's totally forced.

Meanwhile Safari starts putting the URL bar in the active tab, rather than above or below and need to otherwise indicate which is active.
