I wear jeans to work, fuck yeah.

Seconding suit / professional look. So much easier to get where you need to go unchallenged when you look the part.

Altiris deployment scheduled 1 hour and 10 minutes from now. If all goes well, visiting a thousand desktops will be a thing of the past. Christ almighty this is well overdue.

I only wear a suit on the international suit-up day or if I'm forced to.

and all your cool jeans / combats / t-shirts are not dirty come the weekend.
Literally i'm lazy, so Dry-cleaning a suit once a month, washing 5 white shirts, and slobbign around the house in the same jeans / jumper all week is the path of minimal effort.

Oh and some irony about management taking you more seriously, getting promoted faster / easier, and more pay rises. Yep that helps.

Dress to Impress, because it's not the 90's any more. People don't see a 'IT Guy in jeans' and think 'ohh how edgey and pr0 he must be yarrr' they think "why hasn't that lazy slob dressed for work properly.

    Pretty much
Who'd have thought it was the best place to develop a work ethic and learn to dress properly.

    hax0r help needed:
I think i've found a rogue access point bridging from our public wi-fi network. At least, the mac address points to a AP/Bridge device.
As i have the WEP2 key, is there an easy way to see what it's doing in more detail, as id' rather learn about it before i kill it.

Can you log into it? See what clients are connected?

I have fond memories of an IT guy with a wifi-strength meter trying to hunt down the android hotspot in my coat pocket.

not really - i can get into our mesh admin console and see it there, see it drawing traffic, and such like, however i can't log into the unit as it's just packets over the airwaves.
I've got it's MAC address (it belongs to http://www.edimax.com/en/index.php) and such like.
It looks like if i force a WPA2 resynch using some funky tool, i can decrypt the datastream. Alaegedly.

    Fun Times.

If you have the password can't you just look at the data anyway via wireshark or whatever?

    Not Quite:
    http://wolfhoundsec.blogspot.com/201...traffic-w.html

Cracked the traffic, Found the box. Found the unit. Slapped the user.
    Handed to management.

you must be a consultant with that attitude, please transfer all your money to a charity and use that necktie to hang yourself in the nearest bathroom, as your licence to live have hereby been revoked.

we do have a dresscode, inherited from our new british owners, and there's rebellion in the air about not being allowed to kick off your shoes at your desk anymore, as well as the count of vaguely "offensive" tshirts and the like rapidly multiplying every time somebody from the mothership comes to visit. there's nothing quite like 250 rumbling and annoyed IT staff/Engineers when its comes to passive-agressive behaviour.
