I am now using an sccm compliance script to dump all of the sccm logs in to a central location so I can see why sccm isn't working as expected on some clients.. It is shockingly working.... I fucking hate you sccm....

no, its silently dropping errors not telling anybody about it.

Its stinging me... Release patches from last month... Client receives patches.. Needs none of the patches released (because its already been updated) but it DOES need some patches that are in WSUS that I haven't released... Never reports back to SCCM..

Solution: Release all of the patches.. Now the clients all report back in they are complaint with the old package (but not the new one).

DB Dev coworker gets new monitors. Instantly resets resolution to 1280x720 from 1920x1080 because he finds the latter resolution too small (he doesn't have any eyesight issues). He was also shopping for TV's and claims to find no difference between a HD Ready (720p) and a Full HD (1080p)

Am I weird for finding that weird?

Can't he just put scaling up to like 125% or something? That way he can have 1080p videos but text he can read...

There's issues with scaling like text getting cut off but yeah, people in the general don't know about dpi settings and run horrible interpolated display resolutions instead.

This is honestly one of the few things that triggers me when I see it... I'm legit struggling to not start a rant about it right now...

Windows traditionally doesn't do scaling well. 10 is way better at this but many apps are still pretty terrible at it.

WorkFolders are great, migrating away from folder redirection aaaand terminal server does not support workfolders...

so I am now fighting with GPO loopback and overriding folder redirection for any one who logs onto a terminal server, fml it is painful finally get the GPO to process and apparently in loopback merge mode but nope will the correct folder redirection get applied.
Still rather this than fighting wit SCCM.

Watching colleagues remote onto a server after I have used it and see the icons so large that they get 4 per row (175% scaling on my surface)

the user, autodesk, or both ?

because shitting all over OS conventions is par-de-course at this point.

Autodesk. That of all places is such an amazingly retarded place to put your app.

For extra dumbs every time the app updates the dock icon is ‘invalid.’ It still opens, but double ups the icons.

You should see the Windows Installer. They still put their app in the root of the C drive by default..
