i was fucking around with the xorg for a while wondering why i was only getting half res shit on the monitor before i realised that i had a single link DVI instead of the dual link you need /o

Graphic artists.... worse pixel size... something doest add up.

Every artist I know or have worked with would kill for a monitor that does better that 1920x1080 at any size (i have sold so many 27" mac monitors)

So today I got to lauch at IBM..

Quite some time ago I had a blade server die. Stone dead. Wont boot and the blade chassis wont talk to it.. Call IBM and get them on the case. Its nonproduction and really not that important as no dev work is being done on that service for a while, so we jump through all of IBMs hoops (seriously, how many times can you say, no the chassis wont recognise it anymore, yes we have tried to reseat it). IBM finally decides to send out a tech.

Now the datacenter this blade is in is quite some distance away from me, so im not oging to be on site when he gets there. So to assist him I confirms its chassis xx in rack yy slot 9. I turn the id light on to flash for that slot, and confirm its the only blade in that chassis that is turned off. So the little blue light starts flashing away in the dark for several days awating the visit of the tech.

Tech turns up thismorning. Gets in (meaning he remembered his ID this time) and finds my rack. He then proceeds to pull the blade and start work on it.. not 30 seconds later i hear a 'wtf just happened' from the other side of the room and the unix guys are all in a panic.. figuring out what has likely just happened I log in to the chassis to find the tech has indeed pulled the blade from slot 8 not he one from slot 9, and is currently opening up one of our (previously) working FTP servers.

Clearly IBM techs are immune to the colour blue.
