I attempted to borrow the first book from Lewisham Library. It turns out that there are 30 other people already queueing to reserve it, so I decided to cash in an Amazon voucher instead and just buy the box set (books 1-7). I'll have to wait until mid-July, but it's a bit cheaper than buying them all separately.

Indeed. You just have to play with people who understand how to play to win - basically, you need to carefully maintain a balance of power, gradually tipping it in your favour when you can make the final dash for the win. If you have someone on the game who pulls stupid stunts early on, it can get frustrating >.<

Beats Risk by a league though. Especially as no dice are involved.
