The battle itself felt bit half arsed, but this isn't Lord of the Rings and they didn't have nearly the same budget. Otherwise I thought it was a pretty excellent episode. Bit disappointed about certain bits that were changed from the book but as someone said before, it got the pertinent bits across.

i've never read the books, but is there any chance this could be turned into a movie franchise? i remember being highly skeptical that LOTR could be pulled off, but they did (missing large amounts of the books, granted) end up producing three fantastic films.

Jesus christ teds, those films were p bad.

If you were a superhero you'd be The Incredible Fucktard with your ever-ready sidekick Douchetard Boy. Together, you fight intelligence and common sense where you go.

Classic FHC, so many crying sperglords because they slightly deviate from the books to make it a watchable series tolerable to people who my not have read them.

Having read all the books I don't really care, the series is based on the books, not a word for word adaptation, I enjoy both equally, like any other normal person without autism.

So for the last episode we can expect:

      Spoiler:

Ramsey Snow taking Winterfell and capturing Theon.
    Dany killing the wizards.
Jon meeting Mance and getting taken in by the wildlings.
Robb marrying the nurse woman and beheading Karstark after he goes apeshit.
    Bit more Brienne and Jamie?

Or does some of that happen in the third book?

Who said anything about the books? I got part way through the second and stopped because it was fucking boring, reading about the same god damn road for seven pages.

The films are ok, but they're not masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination.

    ADWD spoilers

      Spoiler:
Got trough the first volume. I know most of what goes on in rest, I'm just now finally actually reading it all without skipping over pages. Martin is a troll. Book should have been called "A Dance with Murphy". Everything for everyone that could have possible gone wrong, did.

I just really hope Danny does get to "liberate" Volantis. Even with Ironborn fleet it would be insane to dare travel around the opposite side of the world again, so they should have to take the conventional route, allowing them to "pass by" Volantis. And its waiting masses of R'hllor faithful and clerics.

If Martin would only drop the dark and depressing and give us some epic ass kicking. Could vicinity of dragons maybe allow red priests to do some actual combat magic?

      Spoiler:
Ramsay hasn't been cast this season, so either they'll change the sacking of Winterfell in some way or they'll put it off to the next season. I'd guess that we won't see Mance either simply becuse it's the last ep of the season and he may not have been cast either, but at least we have Rattleshirt. Karstark doesn't die until the 3rd book iirc, but the whole Robb story has been brought forward a bit this season so it could well happen on TV next week. Also, the ep synopsis from Wikipedia says Joffrey and Tyrion will be in it too.

Luckily this ep is an extra-long 70 minutes. They'll need it to wrap everything up.

Reading the last few posts makes me think they should have gone with 80 minute episodes? I'm always left wanting more after each episode but that's probably a good thing.

[QUOTE=bundus;466438][QUOTE=Ben Derindar;466436][QUOTE=Larkonis Trassler;466396]So for the last episode we can expect:

      Spoiler:

How far off is the feast where Joff is poisoned? That would be a good RR Martin style place to end , people who havnt read the books would be like WTF, in fact it would be awesome if the could go the way to tyrion killing his father and escaping , but I think thats a bit much to squeeze in and a bit far ahead if they are using the books time line.

also as far as the battle TV vs battle books, didn't Tyrion lose some of his nose in the book?

      Spoiler:

Can't see them getting to that point in the 60 remaining minutes in the season. They need to introduce a couple of characters, lay out the whole Sansa escape plan part, bring Littlefinger back to King's Landing, setup the actual marriage pact between the Tyrells and Lannisters and then do the actual marriage. Oh and they need to portray the whole Tywin/Tyrion relationship which is central to the whole plot as well. Combine this with the fact they have to tell other stories up north its impossible. I'm not even sure anymore where the stuff I've described fits in book wise its all sort of blured together, obstensiably what we've seen is all book 2 stuff but have they covered everything? I'd check myself but /time
