At this point one of their 13 90s somehow spotted our Batchattilon arty thing and he got artied.

From that point he sits there abusing the hell out of me for not killed 2 13 90s and being useless because I can't scout as well (which is because there are 2 13 90s and now 2 E-50s in my way). Other people in the team start dying and they all sit there blaming me for them dying. They're blaming a 13 75 which is the only Tier 6 tank in the game because I can't kill 2 13 90s and 2 E-50s on my own, and then they start saying to the other team that I am a retard and need to un-install and go play pacman.

    WHAT

    THE

    HELL

    IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE????

Where the hell do they get off blaming me for them being useless? And why are they so mentally challenged that they think a 13 75 can take 2 tier 7 french lights and 2 tier 9 mediums. Just what is wrong with them??

I am really tempted to find a way of removing the chat from the game because I don't play this game to put up with retards like that mouthing off.
...and that is why I run XVM and rip people to shreds when it comes to trolling/ranting at people.

Remember to talk in all caps and throw in random phrases every now and then, such as "Retard Banana Boat" and "Douche Canoe."
Don't forget to also report them for being a bot/team killer/cheater. I save my complaints now just to counter-troll people because the reporting system has proven itself again and again to be useless.

Oh boy I love getting stuck on scenery and looking like an idiot. You know what tanks do? They drive over shit. They don't get stuck on a small rock or a mildly steep slope.

happens so much in my T-50 and 50-2 when i'm hugging a hillside or something and i'm like 'FUUUUUUUUUUCK DON"T GET SHOT DON"T GET SHOT ok i'm not stuck anymore'. i've only been stuck once without a way to unstuck myself though. that was pretty infuriating.

Very broad interview with WarGaming CEO about WoT and more. Too lazy to do a TL;DR.

Does the xp/credit calculator ever seem horribly broken to anyone else? Because this really doesn't make sense:

    Battle 1:
    2x kills (Batchat + M103)
1310 damage to tier 9 tanks
892 damage to tier 8 tanks
    (2202 total damage)
    17 shots, 13 hit
    received 1 hit (ricochet)
    0 spots

    Victory!
    Battle: Erlenberg Sunday, 22 July 2012 6:40:40 p.m.
    Vehicle: T29
    Experience received: 1,177
    Credits received: 26,395

    Battle 2:
    618 damage to a Tiger P
12 damage to an AMX 13 90 (killshot)
    6 shots, 3 hit
    received 3 hits (died)
    1 spot (tier 9)
died half way through the match

    Victory!
    Battle: Murovanka Sunday, 22 July 2012 6:50:03 p.m.
    Vehicle: T29
    Experience received: 979
    Credits received: 27,889

So I make more XP hitting high tier tanks lots, but more credits hitting same tier tanks a couple of times?
And surely I should have made significantly more credits for the 1177 xp match?

That's not a very big discrepancy for two wins in the same tank. You get XP for more than just shooting tanks, and there are XP bonuses that also give no additional credits. http://wiki.worldoftanks.com/Battle_Mechanics

You get more XP for the same damage to the same tank the closer you are to that tank (its not linear, but at a certain range i believe).
If you maintain spots on a target while he gets damaged by others you get part of the xp for that damage. Initial spots mean next to nothing.

On the first point its been a while since I reviewed mechanics so its possible they changed it...

This is really apparent in the 13 90 since you get most kills at headbutting range and it gets a lot of xp for that.

I have camo/binoc/vent, assuming vent/camo are the (imo) best 2 choices, comes down to what u prefer for 3rd.

EGLD i suppose is viable but not amazing, usually you are trying to camp in a TD so should be waiting and prepared. Same reason for binoc being good, plus you dont have to rely on a terrible team to spot for you. Rammer isnt as good because your reload time is so big anyway, you dont really want to be exposing yourself that long. Also most people once shot, dont stay around to get shot twice. Toolbox if your poor i suppose, rest are all bleh.

Rammer, rammer, always rammer on everything that can fit it.

    Eh...

Due to the "turretless" configuration of almost all TDs, their bad movement abilites and bad camo-values for the high tier ones, my experience is that when you decide to expose yourself either by moving into "a lane" to fire on city maps (like death alley) or losing you camouflage by firing "the game is up" and it becomes a DPS race. You are to slow and clunky to relocate and can only pray that either your camo-value is good enough to not get spotted or your armour/hp is good enough to take the beating.

Therefore as Qui Shon said, rammer on everything. As the rammer decreases the load time by a percentage (10%) the gain/decrease in reload time is actually greater the longer the standard reload time is. Ie, a gun with a reload time of 100s will with a rammer get a reload time of 90s, a gain/decrease of 10s. A gun with a reload of 200s with a rammer will have a reload time of 180s, a gain/decrease of 20s.

The other two slots depends on playstyle,
Binoculars + Camouflage-net/Ventilation for sniping. For the german high tier TDs I would argue that ventilation > camouflage-net due to their low camo-values.
EGLD + Ventilation for city maps to "minimize" exposure time.

That makes sense actually, the first battle where I did lots of damage I was firing from probably 300-400m, the second match I was hitting the Tiger P from about 50m, and a few other enemy tanks were getting pounded less than 100m from me.
Generally I get more credits driving my T20 as well, and most of the time I'm engaging within 50m.

Most maps will have somewhere you can retreat around while reloading. Camo wise, (iirc from some googledoc) 704 had the best camo of the t9 td's, or was same as the T95 and both were the best of all the other t9/10 meds/heavies. I would say 704 is fast enough to relocate, suppose it depends how close you like to get to the enemy. You dont have the armour or hp to stand there taking shots in the open though. If you are stuck playing peak-a-boo then at least try and make it one of your shots for one of theirs. As your gun is doing the most damage per shot (unless you are against another 750dmg gun). It would be to their advantage to use their superior rate of fire so ideally you should be hiding inbetween each of your shots. A rammer would mean you can go back out a second or two earlier, but rarely are you in a position to be firing constantly. Yes in a DPS race it is an advantage, but you should be trying to avoid those situations in the 704.

If you are more rambo then get rammer, if you camp more then get binocs basically.
