The T-44/54 are really quite stealthy, so invest in Camo skill and know how to invisitank properly with bushes/LOS. Camo is good for 3 things: frontline spotting w/ sniper support, being the invistank sniper support, and getting the drop on an exposed enemy. If you only brawl with it, half the tank's potential is wasted.
Yup. Scout/snipe/support your team at the beginning. Brawl when you can reliably take down the enemy tank or need to clear a position on the map (ie hill on campinovka, beach on el halluf, etc). The T-44/54 is the best of their group at brawling, but it does have the lowest DPM as well.
tl;dr: Scout/support to start. Brawl when needed.
Ran a platoon of 3x Ferdinands earlier. Ran into an enemy T-54...and he tried to bypass us. Blap blap blap, and he died about 5s later. Funny part was, he was one of their top tiers and was the first tank to die in that match. Ferdinand platoon went on to rape the entire enemy team on Erlenburg.
@Varcus: Go with the top 100mm gun. The last engine is a nice boost, but not really needed tbh. Although it would put you on par for agility as the BatChat I believe.
I never really play my T-44 any more. I prefer the bounciness of the Type's turret and frontal hull to the greater speed/agility of the 44. Plus it's kind of hard to resist the extra credits the Type makes.
You don't even need the top turret for the BL-9, so vOv. The lower stock turret frontal armour is a bit meh, but then again, at least it's not the T32 stock turret* and the BLAT BLAT BLAT of the BL-9 makes more than up for it if you have to choose, considering how horrible the D-25T's pen is at Tier 8.
*For those not familiar with the American Heavies in their stock configurations, the T32 stock turret has 114mm frontal versus 298 on the upgraded one. Whenever I see a poor sod with the stock T32 while sporting a reasonably high pen gun (200+ mm) myself, I make it a point murdering them through the turret, because I can.
Confirming the BL-9 has to be one of my favorite guns in the history of everything.
Makes me smile every time I shoot someone.
Your posting is medium, its not rare and its not well done

Reread what I wrote, I never said you needed the top turret for the BL-9, v0v.
I did say that on stock tracks, most of the Russian line can mount the top turret and top gun (since they are both usually heavier than stock, also that engines are usually the same weight or close).
IS-4, T110E5, T-54, E-50, IS-8, M103, T34, Type 59, M26 Pershing, AMX 13 90, KV-3, SU-122-44, AMX AC Mle. 1946, SU-101, T20, T71, T25/2, KV-1S, T21, Jgdpzr IV, Sherman E8, GW Panther, AMX 12t, M18, Stug III, T-50-2, T-34, PzIV, ELC AMX, Crusader, Covenanter, SU-26, T1, RenaultFT.
Yeah, I'm fully aware of what you said, I just wanted to point out that, on the IS-3 in particular, you don't even *need* the top turret despite being able to mount it on stock tracks.

M103 still best T9 HVY, despite it's magnet arty shell bonus.
Though people are starting to complain about my IS8 taking 15 hits to kill[2 being arty...] And the 500m, 500dmg sniping, shrivels enemy charges.
