Or gets it's engine knocked out and set on fire from a single shot to the front.
Sloped armor? lol right...even an MS-1 will blow right through it.
But tbh, the engine/fire deal I guess is the new "feature" for the German line, so it's something to get the tankers prepared earlier rather than later with.
And of course there is the MM throwing you into fights vs tier 9 and 10's on a consistent basis.
But I only enjoyed the Marder II, StuG III, and Ferdinand TD's in the German line. Every other TD had issues that I just couldn't get around.
The problem is, that the gap between the short and long 88mm is too big. They can't give a T6 TD a 203mm penetration gun.
Of course, the Jagdpanzer IV is now outclassed by all other T6 tank destroyers.
The powercreep must flow.
Yeah the JgPz4 is pretty lacking compared to the other tier 6 TDs, even with the 88. The higher rate of fire than the Slugger or SU-100 only compensates for lower pen and damage in certain situations. The 105 on the JgPanther, however, dominates when the thing is near the top tier in the battle. It's basically the same gun as the Lowe's with almost twice the rate of fire.
edit: although, despite a bad loss for my team, a JgPanther sucked it down just now

Yes! I had some troubles with the JgdPz4, had some fun though. But it's so worth it for the Jagdpanther. Most fun tonk I've owned yet

Any tips on crew skills and equip for German TDs? I'm thinking as much camo as possible for the crew + camo equip and optics + binocs?
Actually an '06.

German TDs at the middle tiers have some getup & go, so off-road driving isn't too essential. Clutch braking for faster turns is up to you (don't use it myself, but will probably get it as a second secondary skill.) Anyway, camo is probably the most useful secondary skill, and its what the majority of my JgPz4 and JagdPanther crewmembers are training. Definitely equip a camo net, and buy a pair of binocs if you can afford it. Binocs can be moved from vehicle to vehicle so you really only need one set. You should get a gun rammer too, but you don't need other modules apart from the camo net, binocs, and rammer.
You should have a fire extinguisher, medpack, and repair kit on your TD, but realistically any hit you take from a comparably tiered vehicle will gut about half your HP. Consumables in this case should really only be used when your side is winning and your death isn't imminent.
