Its one of the best flanking mediums due to the armour and the gun RoF.

The higher tier tanks will already be enagaged with your own high tiers, the middle and lower tier stuff will notice you but if you angle correctly you can deflect everything they throw at you.

The problem I see with nearly all medium drivers is they play peekaboo with heavies rather than actually flanking.
YOU WILL NOT OUTLAST A HEAVY OF THE SAME TIER, YOU WILL DIE TO IT.
I see this every time I play, they always die unless the medium has support.

For the T-54 in particular, it has very good agility, a fast firing and somewhat punchy gun, best use is flanking and putting down the lower tier stuff quickly, then moving on to the big guys. TBH that should be the aim in any medium flanking tank.

So its not useful in CW as its more to mop up lower tiers?

It is quite good scout in CW. Stealthy and can take few shots. It was completely obsoleted by Batchat, but it has changed somewhat, tank locking had a lot to do with T-54 comeback.

Bought a KV-1S and I'm starting to really enjoy it. Didn't enjoy it at all on main account but having a lot of fun so far on 2nd account. Haven't even unlocked tracks yet and still using short 122mm, but really looking forward to having it fully upgraded
