Mastery Class I in Lowe without even getting top gun (have never gotten top gun.) We came from 5 to 10 behind to 2 to 0 ahead. Also new maximum unbonused XP (1,115.)

Pretty much all mastery badges other than Ace require quite modestly awesome wins. I'm just sad they didn't look at vehicle's high score xp to do a retroactive check and awarding; now they are tempting me to play tanks that have gathered dust for ages. And with me not being that good, getting those 2000+xp games can take 50-100 games of frustration.
I know, they near certainly weren't tracking what max exp (and also avg. exp) was done with or without premium.
2nd match in the tank:

Had a couple of nice wins in M103, got 5+ kills game after game... and then (edit) 10 defeats in a row. From 47% up to 49% and then down to 43%

Even on a winning match with a kill and some damaging hits I always come out at a loss if my JP gets destroyed. Sometimes even partial repairs put me behind on credits. In a game like Eve I understand having to use a moneymaking ship in order to finance a non-moneymaker, but in a game of instanced matching it just seems asinine IMO.
I wish WG would relook at the top tier German guns. They have the worst penetration (excluding the JT's top gun) by far of all of the nation's by at least 30mm. 246mm pen on the 128mm. Every other nation is 260mm (Russian 130mm gun), 267 (French 120mm gun), and 269 (US 120mm gun).
Well, WG sets it up that way so that players who have invested quite a bit of time in WoT, i.e. tier 7 and above players, will have an incentive to buy premium sub and premium tanks to support their wallet. At times I can also be a bit upset with the need to grind credits with a lower-tier tank, but on the other hand I can't fault WG for that system. I mean, at least with this system, gold doesn't actually give you any pay-to-win options (aside from gold shells of course, which isn't common in pubs).
Also, not sure if this applies to anybody else, but unlike a lot of people's remarks, I have been noticing that I seem to make more money with tier 8 tanks than with tier 7 tanks, at least for the heavies. I don't have a premium sub running, but with tier 8 heavies basically I am breaking even in the long run, while with tier 7 heavies I seem to lose money slowly in the long run, probably has to do with playstyle I'm assuming. Of course, I will still need to grind credits with either lower-tier tanks or my free T34 premium to afford making big purchases such as new tier 9 tanks (+equipments), but this also means that unless I'm making big purchases, my T32/IS-3/KT are surprisingly self-sufficient. On the other hand, my IS/AMX M4/Tiger(H) are not really all self-sufficient.
The thing is at tier 9, E-75 seems to be holding its candle mighty fine against other tier 9s, even after the introduction of AMX 50 120 and M103, although it's probably attributed more to the excellent hull it has rather than its gun. Not to mention, its (arguably) closest competitor, IS-4, will be kicked out from the tier soon enough. It's probably safe to assume that the new IS-8 and ST-1 will both have more drawbacks compared to IS-4, otherwise it defeats the purpose of kicking IS-4 up one tier. VK45P though, can use some help.
Can't comment on the 128mm on Maus though, as I don't have any tier 10s. But it seems that even with basically the worst gun in the tier, Mauses are still doing quite okay as sheer meatshields. In fact, E-100s seem to be less popular even though it is not stuck with the 128mm, especially if you have some gold shells to spare.

Well I started nicely with 3-4 wins and 2 of them with 5 kills. Next couple of games were "O212 or GE-E two shots me in a cover that would have been safer for a smaller less taller tank". Then couple of complete epic team failure games... By that time I lost all concentration and was driven by anger and stubbornness.
I don't understand M103. Your side and rear armor is what kills you most of the time. Arty will always take at least half of your HP with single shot; any T5+ tank in match can pen you from the sides. Can't take hits from T9 and T10 heavies from the front for long. Driver dies all the time. I have one gunner with ammo rack strenght skill and I still get ammo rack damage all the time.
Maybe things will magically change once I get final gun and engine, maybe...Otherwise its a long dark road to T110
happens often, doesn't depend that much on the tank :P
avoid showing your side, don't angle too much (almost: don't angle at all)I don't understand M103. Your side and rear armor is what kills you most of the time. always keep moving - but keep the above still in mind!
also investing in sixth sense is a good idea. it pretty much tells you if you can keep on shelling those enemies like a lazy camper or if you better start dodging some arty shells (thx to V for this idea, at first i frowned upon this skill, but for mobile heavies it's a good idea)
while the first 120mm isn't bad, the M58 makes that tank .. now you can even consider tanking through damage. :PMaybe things will magically change once I get final gun and engine, maybe...Otherwise its a long dark road to T110
