You know, Bart, Virt talked about a stuck record earlier on. What is your problem with her anyway?
The problem is that CCP keeps fucking up royally, time and time again. And every time that happens, those at CCP that are actually working very hard to make EVE a better game for all of us, well, they get more and more apathetic each time. Because there never seem to be any consequences for the nepotism crowd at CCP that do the fucking up, time and time again. There never seems to be any accountability for these fuck ups, just a lot of denying of the problem and evading the responsibilities for it. So the good guys stop bothering, go 9-to-5, or leave, after a while, and if they can. You know this is going on, I know it, and it's a shitty situation that can only make things worse. And frankly, I think it's pretty shit already.

But every time CCP fucks up again, right on cue, there is Mazz again. Telling us that it isn't really a fuck up. Or that it isn't anyone's fault. Or that we shouldn't judge CCP harshly for it. That CCP is special, and EVE is special, and that we're just a negative bunch of rancorous losers. That holding CCP to account for their failures is nonsense, or counter productive. That we as the :lolcustomers: should just basically suck it up and pay our subscription fees. Anything really, no matter how far-fetched, no matter how retarded. And then she'll keep parroting those same lame old excuses over and over again, until everyone is sick of reading them and just ignores her again. And if you try to reason about her crap arguments or lame excuses, it's all of sudden personal: "You hate me! Why do you hate me? What have I ever done to you?". Anything to get attention, or divert attention. Boehoe, poor Mazz, always the victim of someone or something. The world is all against her. We are all a bunch of meanies. Stop cyber bullying me. Stop cyber bullying CCP.

Well, fuck that. CCP fucks up royally, and has done so time and time again, simply because they've got a lot of people on the payroll that they really should get rid off before things really go down the shitter. CCP is not special, CCP is just poorly run organisation with too much baggage on board that it doesn't have the balls to get rid off. And that baggage, and all those skeletons in the closet? Well they keep undoing all the good that the rest of the company is trying to do. That's not special, that's the same shitty situation thousands of companies are in. And none of the lame excuses Mazz parrots from her MSN friends at CCP changes that. They are just that: a bunch of lame excuses sperged in the hope that it will divert attention away again, so CCP doesn't actually have to do anything about it. And sorry, but I've seen this shit a thousand times before, and probably so have you, and it bores the crap out of me to have to listen to it time and time again.

But hell, I stopped giving a shit about anything Mazz parrots on these forums a long time ago. Maybe I could care some if it had been cleverly done, or at least with some intelligence to it, but no, it is just pure lame-sausage. So now, I just find it amusing to see her flip her lid again and again at every damn troll I throw her way. Perhaps I am a cyber bully in that way? I sure do like to see Mazz make an absolute arse of herself time and time again when I do that. Personally I don't see any harm in a little amusement now and then ...

So, common Mazz, play the old record again. How did it go again? "Barth hates Mazz"? "Why does Barth hate Mazz"? "What has Mazz ever done to Barth"? Throw in the "You secretly want to get it on with me"-spiel again, that was, well, somewhat amusing, in a retarded sort of way ...

Another CCP mistake results in all the serious people coming forward with troubled looks on their serious faces about how the company has betrayed their trust. Do you know how much slack those serious people have given CCP over the years, and how much this terrible forum mistake has damaged their serious psyches? What a load of self-important shit. I think CCP is pretty shoddy in the quality department too, but serious people expressing grave concerns about a dumb mistake in a game annoy me. Focus all that serious concern on something important.

While normally I might be inclined to agree with you, when their incompetences begins to reach areas where they start to endanger MY SECURITY online with their laughable incompetence then yes, my concerns are grave... afterall these morons have my credit card number.

Quit if you want to quit, still I think eve provides one of the most competitive and interesting pvp experiences out there in the games industry even if the company behind it cocks up every single year in at least one thing.

This. Though I'll be watching Jumpgate: Evolution closely, and trying TOR, and hoping there's an Elder Scrolls MMO in our future somewhere.

I'm willing to give BioWare the benefit of the doubt until they prove themselves fail. I don't think they've released a game yet that I wouldn't give four out of five stars or more. And a plot-driven MMO appeals to me.

I'm also keeping an eye on "Project Copernicus" from 38 Studios, for the same reason (plot-driven MMO).

Hell, that's one of the things that drew me to EVE, was the potential for players to drive the underlying plot of the game.

I don't think Jumpgate: Evolution is ever going to be released tbh. The last news on that site is from 2009.

Edit: You may want to take a look at Black Prophecy. I see it's already started in the EU and is in beta in the US. Looks like fun as well.

JGE is toast. Codemasters suing them for damages, lots of upheaval at the studio, drama lama and the money is a topic.

Black Prophecy is actually fun, to a point. Quick gratification, flying around, maneuvering takes a little to get used to but is fun. It isn't very deep though. It is not a virtual world, and there's no real risk or reward thing due to low tresholds of sandbox. It's ok, it is just not real, nor an addiction, nor a life.
J'ai violé votre vaisseau spatial. C'était amusant....!

EVE once was about internet spaceships. Then those became serious business.
Now all that is left is serious business, and spaceships are docked for two years till after the Dust of Incarna

All you're doing is driving the story in your little bubble. There is no player driven, world changing action from what I've seen. It's just like any other theme park where you're the umpteenth rags to riches hero saving the world again, except with better written plot and and branching possibilities. It's not dynamic whatsoever.

Not to mention it literally is WoW in space which would nice if we didn't already have WoW and a market filled with WoW clones.

I can understand wanting to quit EVE but wanting to quit EVE for a shallow themepark after you've tasted the freedom of a truly player driven universe is beyond me.

    ...wow.

You really have an incomplete knowledge of the word "try", don't you?

EDIT: Actually, no. I don't mean to be that sarcastic. But seriously, from time to time, even serious EVE players can poke their heads into other MMOs without being unfaithful to EVE. I poked my head into RIFT earlier this year, for instance. If TOR really is a WoW clone, then it'll last with me for about as long as RIFT did: about 4.5 hours.

a fun game and a sandbox are not necessarily the same thing. some of you have such a hardon for the sandbox idea that you kinda forget games are meant to be escapist fun and not a second job
