    As for new guns, ACR is rapemachine, fast rof, nice accuracy, average damage.
    MP5k is lols, like the MP7, needs extended mags to get more than one kill per mag though

    SCAR-L is pretty crap, same (lowish) rof as SCAR-H but worse damage with a larger clip (20 H vs 30 L). AUG is a a bullethose, nice rof and accuracy, quite like the F2000 but slightly less rof and a lot less recoil.

    Sniper rifles are pretty generic, M417 is same as the other semi-autos (besides SKS), JOG(JOC?) the bolt action one, has nice sights but otherwise, exactly the same as the others.

    The LSAT (caseless ammo LMG) is pretty crap, way too much recoil, way too low rof, damage is middle of the LMGs. The L85A2 is epic, much like the magfed LMGs (besides M36, which is shit), great accuracy, low recoil, decent damage.

    As for the new modes, conquest domination is a straight rip of domination from another popular shooter but with the bonus of being able to spawn on your squad.
    Gun master is gun game from Counter Strike, thankfully you dont have to do every gun just get 2 kills with each one to progress, there are about 20 levels. 3 pistol rounds, 3 SMG rounds, 2 shotgun rounds, 3 AR rounds, 3 LMG rounds, two sniper rounds then the M320 LVG (the bouncing nade launcher) and a knife kill to finish I think.

    The CQB maps, no hiding places, there is some feeling of joining the front and attacking as a team from good spawn positions. It feels somewhat like the VERY cramped maps of another popular shooter but the corridors keep going and the maps have been expanded quite well. There are many ways to flank and pick off enemies camping in one place, sometimes its too easy and there is no slow push down a corridor or careful suppression, just someone going down a side corridor and cutting into the enemies side. It makes firefights very quick and dynamic but very sporadic due to the spawning positions.

    As much as I hate to compare mechanics of two different games, is anybody else not surprised that the ACR is as destructive here (going by you guys' posts, I haven't gotten the expansion yet) as it was in CoD?

    Seems like no matter the game, ACR is always a solid pick.

    Yea the ACR is nice, really crappy stock sights but its quite easy to get 10 kills and strap a red dot to it.

    Do 5 non terrible matches on gun master and you can get the first unlocks on the new guns before you unlock them proper since they all appear (apart from the MP5k) in that mode as you progress.

    I really dislike the ACW-R because of its low bullet damage. 20 max and 16.7min iirc. Puts it at 5 shot territory at point blank instead of the 4 shot the other carbines have.

    They've spun it as; "we won't charge for map packs alone, but these are expansions, with extra guns and stuff"

    i've yet to meet someone who actually puts 4 bullets into someone at close range anyway. the vast majority just dump half a mag into people at that sort of distance.

    just remind me far too much of CoD sadly. CQ is nothing new to BF (warlord palace, gen rooms in 2142 etc etc) and they managed to be intense but visually clean at least. all these new maps seem to do is some random corridors with lots of exploding stuff and clutter and shadows and blergh.

    i could be wrong, probably need to put some hours into them to get a proper feel for them, but yeah on first glance do not want.

    I think its the clutter on many of those tight maps with small corridors and crap everywhere. Thats probably why I like the hotel/skyscraper map the best, white walls and corridors, full length windows and skylights, lots of vertical movement but easy target aquisition unlike scrapyard and the weird middle eastern villa/mansion with pipework, rubble and boards/meatal plates/scaffolding about the place.

    That's hardly the point. The lower bullet damage means it has a worse TTK at all but long range even with its higher RoF than most carbines.

    First night impression, Conquest Domination is kinda bad on the new maps, its too cramped and the random spawns just take out all sense of tactical play or aiming, or positioning or infact anything. Gunmaster however is pretty decent for a short while. The new maps are gloriously put together though, they deserve better than Conq Dom. Infact CD would be improved by making set side spawns, with lots of routes out from both sides so flanking and being sneaky, where as now its just load up the lasers and start spamming everything - oh and Dart is king.

    On the upside, if this is the standard of map design, Armoured Kill will be very fun.

    I am torn - the gameplay is very fast and fun, but I do agree that I miss the tactical aspects of working through as a team, the randomness takes that away. The levels themselves are well done - and I actually think the "clutter" is a key part of that - I kept shooting those vase things in the middle part of the skyscraper/apartment map cause I'd turn and think it was an enemy player.

    As for the guns - I actually just work through them 1 at a time to get all the unlocks - I'd probably have a much better score if I just stuck with the "good" weapons :\

    Can the m417 be used as a heavier, longer ranged albeit slower sks (due to the 21 bullet magazine and the higher rof compared to the other semis but the sks and the m39ebr) ? (which [the sks] ive read got nerfed but i really havnt noticed yet). The only real reason id buy cq is for the guns!
