    I'm surprised you guys liked the 870 slugs. I tried em out, but there was wayyyy too much bullet drop to hit things at range in a timely manner. Plus, you need 2 shots at mininum to drop the target, so at that point why aren't you just rocking an assault rifle...

    Headshots are easy. I actualy use the Halo site for everything. Put it half way to the moa ring for the first shot far enough from your target to gauge range, adjust aim after sighting in. And you get used to it, the bullet drop is large, but consistant.

    So with most of the attack chopper unlocks not functioning correctly, I've been idly wondering about pilot laser painter + gunner laser guide missile combo. Has anyone tried this? Specifically, I'd be curious to know how it performs against other aircraft, sense you wouldn't be able to spoof the LGM with flares, which would potentially allow for a massive advantage in helicopter duels. Sense laser-guided ordinance gets +50% damage when tracking a painted target, that should put the LGM in the one-hit-kill range vs. other choppers I'd think.

    Obviously TV missiles would be more useful on the whole, but until they are working this might be an interesting combination? LMK if you have Laser-guided missiles unlocked for the attack helos and we can go try it out sometime.

    Wouldn't it be better to have the person marking the chopper to instead be in a jet shooting it down?

    so apparently attack chopper rockets do the same damage to a tank nevermind if they hit the front or back, seems bullshit.

    The gunner actually does more damage firing into the rear than the rockets.

    The helicopter pilot can unlock a laser designator that paints targets for laser guided weaponry; the helicopter gunner can unlock a LGM that does additional damage to, and can lock onto aircraft, when that target is painted. It costs two perks to use (pilot perk laser painter, gunner weapon laser guided missile) and so its therefore rather inefficient compared to the TV missile which would do the same thing with one (and from much further range), but sense the TV missile either blows up the helicopter when fired (trolololol), or bounces off the target without exploding, its not worth taking at present. The only other alt-weapon the gunner can use is the LGM, which is rather anemic without the hostile being painted already. So if your stuck with using the LGM, perhaps there is a way to bring out far more potential with it.

    Besides, 90%+ of the playerbase doesn't have TV-missiles yet, but laser-guided missiles aren't too hard to unlock.

    Having good jet pilots keep the skies clear is wonderful, just as having sucky jet pilots while the enemy team has good jets/MAA is painful. Either way, as the helicopter pilot, I can't do anything about how that plays out. If for some reason it came down to having a competent gunner or a singular competent jet pilot, I'd rather he be my gunner - the attack helicopter's survivability is determined by the pilot (and luck), but 90% of its lethality comes from the gunner.

    Well rockets are going to hit the top of tank which takes extra damage the same as the back of the tank anyway.

    Holy hell, the AEK-971 rapes.

    Played a HC Metro server and managed to unlock the NIRV, Forward Handgrip, and Laser on it in no time flat. The gun spits out death to anything in front of it, even at range.

    Question: How many C4's does it take to blow up a tank from 100% to 0%? 2? 3? My biggest gripe atm is the vehicles. Planes and choppers aren't too much of an issue...yet. But the tanks are like rolling death. So long as it has secondary crewman who jumps out and repairs, the Tank is damn near invincible. In BF2 it only took 2 rockets, BF2142 it took 1 to the rear, and it seems they decided to make Tanks even more beefier.

    3 to the front or 2 to the sides/rear drop it down to about 10-15% HP, at which point it burns to death. 1x C4 only takes about 48-50% off when planted on the back. 2 on the front drops it down to burning, but with enough of a buffer for Mr Engi to jump out and save it.
