They nerf snipers and that bullshit flashlight/laser crap? Sniping is retardedly too OP and so is that laser/flashlight shit.

Well I only got in the Mi whatever, so maybe the Super Cobra is better, but it felt like sludgy shit. Could barely even circle strafe. Also it doesn't help that you have to unlock the tv-guided missiles as the gunner.
And when your engine gets set on fire, the handling gets even worse and you have to try and land it without crashing and repair it. Also I manged to repair it to like 90% and the engine was still on fire or something. Dumb.
The skybox limit needs increasing by a factor of 2-3, ~1100 feet is far too low. It's also retarded how, if you hit the ceiling your plane effectively gets stuck for 5-30 seconds.
The first bolt action you unlock seems to be 1 hit kill on most areas
It isn't, at best it does 75 damage (non-headshot), falling off to 55 at range. The one hit kills atm are a result of bugged hitboxes (one bullet registering multiple hits) which is apparently fixed for release.

Caspian Border is nice, don't get me wrong, and its great to see DICE have pretty much nailed what made Battlefield such a great series. This is going to sound heretical coming from a Battlefield 1942 veteran like myself, but out of the two beta maps I think I honestly prefer Operation Metro.
I've put several hours into Caspian Border today and yesterday, and to be frank I haven't had a single round thats given me an adrenline rush or even what I would call an intense firefight. Maybe my gaming tastes have changed but on 64-player Caspian I just feel...lost and directionless. The action itself is very scattered, which I think is exacerbated by having to travel long distances on foot. Not being able to squad up with friends doesn't help, it makes it so much more difficult to stay together and coordinate.
-Edit- On Rush I get more satisfaction out of the game, because when I assault an MCOM and successfully destroy it I know that I've achieved something in the game thats helped our team move forward. I've played a certain and definite role in our (hopefully) victory. I know that if I hold this corridor and I manage to kill 10 or 12 attackers, I've made a solid contribution to our teams defense by making the attackers lose those tickets. When I've been playing Conquest, I've had some enjoyable moments where myself and a couple of team-mates have successfully cleared and captured a control point. We're half-way to the next one when the one we just captured gets lost again. The constant musical chairs between each control points gets a bit tedious after a while.
I know that Rush isn't considered as "classic" Battlefield but I think I prefer the focus of it, where the action get concentrated around the objectives. Maybe I'll prefer the 32-player Conquest maps if they have 3 or 4 control points, but I'll still be mixing it up with some Rush mode.

eiπ + 1 = 0
Currently playing: Minecraft, The Legend of Grimrock
The problem is the terrible squad system and map.
This is pretty much like BF2. It's just that having to spawn on pubbie #88734-D1 with no idea of whats going on the map is going to spread people out to retarded places. Also squads are gimped for this type of huge conquest map, need 6 person squads.
The problem im seeing is that literally everyone is going engineer on this map. Maybe some supports too I guess. Retarded to combine the vehicle repair/anti-vehicle into one class. There's too much in one class not to use.

Sniping IS pretty overpowered on Metro. Not as bad on the larger maps though.
The problem is that the DEFAULT rifles are semi-automatic, kill in 2 poorly placed shots (or 1 good one), and do not take you out of scope to fire again.
I know it's more realistic, but in every other BF game you fire a shot, come out of scope, and pull the bolt.
You need to realize that most people will exclusively be playing this in hardcore mode (myself included) which means high powered shots are generally 1 hit kills.
The fact that it's now STUPIDLY easy to snipe makes those rifles more OP.
I have no problem with the lasers, but the flashlights are fucking broken outside.
It's pretty difficult to capture a defended point unless you have 2-3 dedicated assault players tbh.
At caspian border ranges engineers just get raped by acogs.
edit: Obviously if theres 2 tanks and a chopper on the point engineers may be useful, I have killed 2 choppers so far with the nade' launcher though, sweet tears.
Jets who try a strafing run on a tank are fun... although for some ungodly reason a tank shell to the face is not an instant kill. Same with helicopters. Annoying, because hitting them isn't exactly that easy :/

I'm convinced the reason most think the semi-autos are OP is due to the hitbox bug. The semiautos require two headshots at range (1 close) and 3-4 body shots at range (MAYBE 2 at point blank, 3 at medium). Yes the are very accurate and high damage, but at medium ranges its basically a trade for assault rifles, which can burst a guy down instantly given the synch lag. If your trying to advance on a position held by a DMR, use 320s or rockets or your own DMR to get him to go away. Bounding between cover with medpacks would also work if the hit bug wasn't there. I imagine these issues won't exist in the final version of the game.
after a round of shitty caspian lag I joined another server, and double clicked deploy to spawn in the jet, first off it spawned me in the jet (hud loaded and everything), then 1 sec later spawned me again at the base and someone else took the jet.
motherfucker i almost punched the screen
fuck this beta i'm just going to wait for the release now.
I'm pretty confident that DICE will be able to fix most of the crippling bugs for the release. The beta code is so old now that you can pretty much just disreguard it as a proper beta test.
I'm sitting at a Kratio of 0.8 atm, but I'm still having fun with it. I need to adjust my tactics because running into a frontal assault role as a support gunner just doesn't work :P
Once proper squad selection and stuff is implemented I reckon the game will become far more enjoyable for people that want to spec in one particular role, at least for first few weeks of the game.
Man who gives a shit about jets. Real men play 8v8 anyway~
While waiting for release, time to take a trip down memory lane:
