They have a new website skin up. lol, I know it's not much, but they are making changes here and there for the better, in game and out. They just moved to some bigger servers and a new location or something like that. Progress in the right direction for sure.

NeX was like half the server.. And most of them have gotten bored and left...

They knew, but they were doing the server upgrades anyway, and mostly the 'fix' for the pop count was to fix some code so the new servers weren't really needed.. They are also advertising a little bit now too and we seem to be picking up the odd player here and there (assuming my corp is 'normal', we got at least 3 new players last weekend). Currently their biggest problem is the new sov mechanics being delayed and the fact the servers are located in the ass end of the world.. The sov mechanics are coming real soon and the server move will be a bit after that (probably going to be in the UK like the eve servers)
