Yeah, he's on the far end of what I'm willing to tolerate. I read him more for the nerd culture than the politics.

Seems like basically the same as Friedman - "He sucks, but I'd rather see him suck less than suck more". I'm getting that from four paragraphs on Wikipedia though, so I'm no expert.

the intelligentsia’s determined persecution of refugees from Islamic oppression and anyone else who dares speak truthfully about it are as disgraceful today as Walter Duranty’s paeans to Stalinism were in the 1930s.

I read so much herpderp in that article so i just googled some phrases and low and behold its all a big self confirming circle jerk. He refers to Koch books who refer to him who refers to the flag who points at koch ad infinitum.

I cant believe i wasted 10 minutes of my saturday morning on this.

Does that blog post contain an explicit definition of what an "intellectual" or "intelligentsian" is supposed to be (in case I overread it)?

Apparently Daily Mail readers are the "intelligentsia" in his world.

    Fascinating.

That has to be the only quote I ever googled which only delivers two hits, one of them obviously being the article itself and the other one being some other comment to some other irrelevant blog.

So for now, apart from being amused, I shall also conclude that it has been made up.

In an effort to not lose Michigan, Romney has decided to make a "big speech" in front of "thousands of supporters". Apparently, the response was so overwhelming, they needed "a bigger venue". Only a football stadium will do.

    Here are the results:

Who the hell does he have running his campaign? Obama would never make a mistake like that.

That was organised by the "Detroit Economic Forum" and the venue was "upgraded" because more tickets than anticipated were sold according to this:

So no delusional megalomania, but a campaign team "oversight" to let something like that proceed.

I was pretty skeptical at first because I was so very very wrong when bush got elected a second time, but I'm actually getting convinced obama's being handed the next election...

Beyond all the shit outside of Obamas control and the fact that he's more than capible of fucking up, people like Herchel remind me every day that there are plenty of people who will wantonly vote for the modern clusterfuck that is the republican party.

Herschel is Canadian, so he's busy turning Canada into America mk.II. Visit Alberta, it's full of stupid redneck "Americans" who say eh a lot.
