I am sorry, but nowhere in the US Constitution it says anything about the "Internet". If Founding Fathers thought that having a choice of ISP is critical to individual liberties, they would say so. I have studied Federalist Papers extensively, and there is absolutely nothing that would support your point of view. I am sure other constructionists, like Justice Scalia, would agree.

Meet the next President of the United States:

There, can this thread finally go to sleep? I can't believe we've legitimately kept this going since Perry threw his hat in the ring.

So the winner of November election is... Obama that time-traveled from 2008? Makes sense, actually. 2008 Obama was great, current Obama looks old, tired and cranky. And odds of Obama discovering time travel during next four months are still higher than Romney winning.

Unless.. Romney is also time-traveler, but from the future, a cyborg sent by a handful of remaining Republicans in a desperate attempt to keep Obama from getting a second term!!!

OMG! It all makes perfect sense!!!

I'm pretty sure that Obama isn't just going to handily win this election. Unless something massively changes in the next couple of months, it's going to be a pretty close race.

I am pretty sure news of arrests of Fox executives and journalists will come shortly. Finally, a good first step in cleaning up US airwaves from right-wing propaganda.
You make it sound like he issued an executive order to suppress the media. thankfully, I had the article you linked to set me straight.

    Oh, Don.
Nordstern, you are far too naive about how these thing work. Obama does not have to issue executive order. This tactic of turning off FoxNews in public places have been practiced by progressives for years. It's just now it has been given an official approval. Now each bar, doctor's waiting room, every gas station store will have an official "customer" who is "always right", to make sure Fox is not on.
    And so, it begins:

Ohio diner owner dead hours after serving Barack Obama.

A restaurant owner who served US President Barack Obama breakfast on a campaign stop has died hours later.

Josephine Harris, 70, who owned Ann's Place in Akron, Ohio, was taken to hospital after complaining of fatigue and a tingling feeling.

She went into cardiac arrest en route and was pronounced dead shortly after 11:00 EST (15:00 GMT).

Mr Obama arrived the restaurant at about 08:30, ordering two eggs "over easy", bacon and wheat toast.

The Summit County medical examiner's office said Josephine Harris had died of natural causes and there would be no autopsy.

My guess, she refused to switch channel from FoxNews.

    +1

however the Republicans have quite a bit of cash resources to brainwash the masses and I wouldn't have thought Bush getting re-elected, so my trust in the collective sanity of the US of A is relatively limited.

Poor old gal, obviously she contracted Obama Husseins socialism and her immune system was too weak - just like it'll happen with many older and thus weaker white americans, because he doesn't care about them.

When pretending they do helps them get votes. Duh.

We've been watching this election cycle in earnest since what? Perry? Just under a year ago? At what point have things not changed in the span of a "couple of months"?

    Results as such:
Romney wins, I accelerate plans for leaving the USA.
Obama wins, I continue my plans to leave the USA.

It's not the president which bothers me about the political climate, it's the dual-party competition where there is no party for moderates or different opinions, so aspiring politicians limit themselves to one of two sets of values rather than pulling their own. The same follows for the majority of citizens, however.

The BBC has oversight. Hardly a cast iron guarantee of it's integrity but it does, at least, have a chain that can be yanked if the heady stench of shenanigans is detected.
As an American, I watch the BBC for any news on television. Otherwise I listen to NPR and newspapers where I don't need to see anchors rabbit on all day (24 hour news )
