I thought you had to pay 1 fleet ship mod considering you had the Maelstrom skin?

I know I only have to pay 1 FSM for the Fleet Defiant. Which I think I'll be getting soon~

Nope, four. Kinda sucked, but meh. (Also for a discount on the Fleet Adv, you'd need the MVAE)

Fleet Defiant will be nice - I should have more than enough EC for another FSM + goodies by the time we hit tier 3

Thinking of cleaning it all out tbh, most of that is shit none of us will ever use unless Cryptic decides to make transphasic/plasma a viable alternative damage type to photon and quantum. IE never. Question is, keep it for myself the EC or dump it into the fleet bank? Unlike EVE, it doesn't pay to be a twat to your fleet, so.
Put the EC into the fleet bank. Or play the market with it and get us shiny stuff. However having EC available to buy doffs or whatever for certain starbase assignments would be cool too.

Dumping it into the fleet bank so doffs can be bought whenever.

Also got asked about marauder missions:

The route I use goes from DS9 to Qo'noS and back. Assuming you start at Qo, go from Omega Leonis to Pi Canis then Regulus then Eta Eridani. After that you go to Orellius and finish at Beta Ursae. Each new sector block, make sure to check the missions in both the normal doff section (the icon next to the zen/dil store) then the Orion Marauder contact in the bridge -> ready room -> Imperial Duty Officer Reports.

Ideally you want to go after stuff like raiding foundries/stations and freighters, these yield the most contraband. Also you get 500+ dil a pop from Enforce Labor/Sell Prisoners to Orion Slavers/Colonial Labor type missions (the latter is also available from the same agent as the Turn In Contra mission) and they usually take about 3-4 hours.

You're using contraband to spam security officer assignments to turn it in for 2k a pop, a 4 hour duration doff mission. Keep an eye out for Confiscate Contraband/Inspect Civilian Freighter missions, those'll give extra on top of what you get from Marauding. Crit successes will give you more, you'll usually get 3-4 per freighter disable.

If you have 2x KDF or more, you get even more! Adds up quickly depending on success rate.

http://forums.somethingawful.com/sho...0&pagenumber=2 Goons have a nice writeup saying the same things I am, but they worded it much better and easier to understand. Search for "contraband".

Can someone please set permissions to deposit EC in the fleet bank?

If I sell something from there I can't donate the EC...

If nobody's done it by the time I see you, I will.

Also Zen <-> Dil rate is very low right now, 180 dil per Zen point. If you have a shitload of dil, cash it in now for Zen points. When the Sovereign Refit hits, prices are going to be batshit and you can profit p. nicely.

Quick easy way to make 200k every 7 or less minutes. I got it down to around 5-6, made 600k since I didn't have the missions I needed up at first. Works beautifully.

Some've said you can get 2.2 mil or so doing it.

Is this game worth giving a try again? Has it changed much since about three months after launch?

F2P, tons of endgame content, lot less painful to level (moderate play gets you max level in 3 days), loads of ship varieties.

Starbases, like EVE's POSes, but without the pain of running an EVE POS.

For a somewhat less rose colored perspective:

Space content is good, leveling is good, the first 'season' episode arc is very good, the second is mediocre, haven't started the third yet. I have no idea how you would max in 3 days unless that means 72 hours of play, I'm at 41/50 after a week of casual play though. Ground combat is still pretty much the same (bad). The economy is sort of borked with something like 5 different currencies now, but that actually makes it much easier for those of us with EvE experience to exploit legions of fools. I haven't tried the PvP but from what I hear it's instanced and dominated by premades. The fleet content is just getting going, the starbase is an instanced station that can be improved, and gives you access to shipyards which supply high end ships.

Are you doing mirror event or not? Mirror is usually a guaranteed 2-3 levels per run. Combine that with the fact you can repeat it multiple times an hour.

I didn't get anywhere near 2-3 levels per run in Mirror Event. I was lucky to get 2-3 levels total hitting it up for the hour. Did I miss some additional XP bonus in there?

Even on my klink it took me a week or so of semi-regular play (mostly pvp queues), the 3 day thing would really only apply if you've played at least one character through and had a good feel for what missions to try to abuse imo. I don't think if I started a new Fed I could hit anywhere close to that time frame. Or I'm just terrible, but that's already been established.

PVP on the way up, you won't find premades before the 40-50 grouping. I rarely did at 40-50 either but I was doing more of the capture point area which I assume is the less popular.

Yeah you should be rolling XP Bonuses. But sometimes you get the 100/700+ day veterans that give you XP bonuses so that helps too. XP Bonuses are p. cheap on exchange too.

    Assault Cruiser Refit: Regent Class

Star Trek Online STO MMORPG F2P Sc-Fi MMO game

Riker: Geordi, are those pockets of Metreon Gas?
La Forge: Yes Commander. Highly volatile. Recommend we keep our distance.
Riker: Negative. I want to use the ramscoop to collect as much of it as we can.
    La Forge: The purpose being?
Riker: The purpose being, I intend to shove it down the Son'a’s throat.
(Female Trill navigator swoons … the audience swoons … Riker is so dreamy …)
Daniels: Commander, if one of their weapons hits that gas…
Riker: It’s our only way out of here, Mr. Daniels.
La Forge: I wouldn’t be surprised if history remembers this as the Riker Maneuver.
Riker: If it works. Computer, activate manual steering column.

In 2375, the U.S.S. Enterprise-E, a Sovereign Class Assault Cruiser, engaged the Son'a in the Briar Patch. Commander William T. Riker was in command while Captain Jean Luc Picard was on the surface of the Ba'ku homeworld attempting to assist the population. Outnumbered, Riker demonstrated his unconventional thinking and defeated the Son'a by venting metreon gas between the Enterprise and the Son'a ships. The Son'a's own weapons ignited the gas, and the resulting explosion destroyed one Son'a ship and disabled the other. History remembers this as the Riker Maneuver.

The Sovereign has become the standard for which all Assault Cruisers are measured. Now this hallmark ship class gets an upgrade and sets a new standard -- the Assault Cruiser Refit: Regent Class.

The Regent Class comes equipped with a Metreon Gas Canisters Console Mod. Metreon Gas is highly unstable, but when properly stored it can be safely replicated and transported. This Console Mod allows you to vent the gas from your Bussard Collectors and ignite it at will. The resulting explosions can be extremely devastating. This Console Mod can be equipped in any console slot. It may only be equipped on Sovereign variants, including the Assault Cruiser and Assault Cruiser Refit.

The Assault Cruiser Refit: Regent Class also comes with a prototype Wide Angle Quantum Torpedo Launcher. This torpedo launcher has been upgraded with a Wide Angle targeting system that allows the torpedo to lock onto targets that would normally be outside of standard firing arcs, providing a 180-degree targeting arc. This launcher can be equipped on any starship, but you may only equip one.

The Assault Cruiser Refit configuration includes the Regent, Sovereign, Noble and Majestic class costumes, and comes complete with a manual steering column joystick (not really).

    Hull Strength: 39,000
