    lotta people in various online fitness communities struggling with the gym closures. Not an issue for me since I blew a grand or so on weightlifting stuffs a few years back, so I'm still plugging along in the basement.

    For anyone who is struggling with strength training, there's plenty of stuff showing up on youtube for bodyweight or resistance band workouts.

    Better, though, are sandbags, and they're cheap.

    this is r/weightroom's own Pandemic Proof Strength Training Guide
    .

    I've recently added to my DIY equipment selection with a mace to go with the sad DIY sandbag and even sadder DIY prowler.

    Next on the list are some 2x4 blocks so I can do block pulls.
    Quarantined and loving life.

    Working my nightshift at the hotel in stockholm the upcoming week. Will be intresting since boss told they had to let go or cut down hours of alot of the staff. Got a feeling the jobs going to have way more down time wich im not sure is a good thing since the running and doing things helps me keep awake.
    Cleaning my apartment and such.
    Worry about my grandparents since they both 80 + and in the risc group.
    Playing some games, started playing open ra again in preparation for command and conquer remastered.

    i have decided to 100% Skyrim SE, with a boatload of the last ten years worth of quest mods installed. about 80 hours in so far and just getting to the point of wrapping up the base-game thieves guild quest line with a few other bits here and there done.

    i figure i am about 10-15% trough thus far.

    Currently trawling the patent database on passive and active electrostatic filters. Unsurprisingly, the Chinese patent a lot of mask/filter designs. I’m seeing if something can be hacked from ultra-fine copper mesh and cotton. Literature suggests it can, and works better than just cotton alone, as it causes small particles to coagulate into larger ones that the cotton fibers can intercept. Hope is to come up with something that filters noticeably better than a cotton mask, and can be heat sterilized every day.

    Aside from that, this has been a great opportunity to catch up on all the around-the-house stuff I’ve put off. I’ve actually barely gamed at all in the last few weeks.
    Take a look at vacuum bags, though you might need to layer them in between two other materials. Cotton inner, tyvek outer?

    I bought war dollies (Age of Smegma Skeleton starter box and a Wight King) ironically planned to get these anyway to play with a mate, oh well that might not be happening for 12-18 months so hey, at least they'll be painted by then... Maybe.

    I also have a backlog of 30K and associated to paint.

    I'm still doing 1/2 course load this semester - online - so I'll be pottering along with the degree.

    Buying garden beds tomorrow to setup for winter, just in case the next Great Depression hits. I get the feeling mum plans to Shanghai me into doing more yard work for her.

    Also probably going to be doing home improvements. A few doors need squaring back up on their hinges, both showers need re-sealling. Mostly little things like that.

    I'm nominally fairly introverted so do a great deal of socialising with my local friends over discord already. Since discord introduced streaming we've been having movie nights. We've watched all the Terminator movies, Predator movies and just finished season 1 of Law & Order SVU.

    Work related: Set up remote collaboration, get my head around machine learning in Python, find a way to implement Ptychography for real 4D datasets. Maybe start writing a paper.

    Not work related: Fix up my bathroom, learn to cook (lol), take a pencil and start remembering how to draw.

    Both work and not work related: Improve skills in data science and machine learning. Current project: Build a SIR-model and make guestimates about COVID-19. It's pretty fun and scary.

    Ye this is a great time for spring cleaning and living space projects. I ordered some extra wall decorations and led lighting for the office/bedroom, next is probably a long overdue deep clean of the kitchen, recycled probably 2 dozen empty rum bottles I'd left in a corner, all that kind of shit.

    Once I'm though the vidya game goals, I'd like to spend some serious time reading. I've always been interested in researching the Irish immigrant experience and how we made the leap to "whiteness" while other groups didn't / still haven't. The libraries closing is a problem for my dad, he's one of those readers that was there twice a week getting new material and is hopelessly tech illiterate, but I've got a Kindle and the internet so I'll never run out.

    Positive note, there's an outside chance I'll be able to do some 3D printing of respirator parts through work, which would involve a 1 hr walk each way to get to the office without riding the public germ canisters. My school was ~relatively~ ahead of the curve on closing but as of 5 pm last Friday only essential personnel are allowed anywhere, with leave from the administration and campus police.
    This is worse than I thought, there's no butter in my coffee!

    Building guitars...

    I wanted to build a cigar box guitar a while ago, preferably with something like a Seymour Duncan Invader or something similarly hot wired. But I don't have actual tools around...

    I've got a lot of whiskey to taste so I think I'll get started this evening. I'm most interest to try a blended Japanese one my aunt gave me at Xmas

    My projects atm except paperwork for work:

    - lube a bunch of switches;
    - rebuild a Miya Pro Panda with Mint Holy Panda switches for maximum pandamonium;
    - change a switch in my Fjell that is a bit dodgy (H);
    - make travel holster for my Ortho48 out of leather;
    - finish up a notebook leather cover I started a while ago;
    - start making artisan keycaps because I have all the materials but never had time;
    - if I have time rebuild a Razer Blackwidow X Chroma with decent switches (Gateron Yellow lubed + filmed) just so I have a big keeb with nice feels.

    Not much has changed for me, yet. No sports obviously. I work in food industry which is considered as critical. So, work as usual, though there has been quite a bit of compartmentalization.

    As for free time, I'm working on a ordering/tracking system for machine spare parts for work. SQL/NodeJS backend with React and Android app fronts. Goal is mainly to just learn all this stuff. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't. No pressure.

    I don't have the motivation to achieve anything with my free time. I've had so much free time in my 20s and did nothing with it

    I am planning to play lots of video games and watch movies with my dad. And also upgrade my home networking if my Amazon package ever arrives.

    Too early to plant seeds, but not too early to order them.

    Mostly finding ways to avoid that the wife and the little one go 'there can be only one' - is quite the full time occupation!

    I assembled my AT-AT model finally. The kit was produced in 1983 (after ROTJ), I acquired it in the mid to late '90s, will eventually be part of some homebrew Star Wars miniature battles game that I am working on putting together. Basing and paint to come next, gotta cover up those rough glue seams.

    The full game will be primarily using Micro Machine models produced in the mid '90s.

    I will work. This is not a vacation people! :P That said, works is pretty chill right now (for my role) so I will try and do some training; AI, containers/k8 and a lot of other shit I havent had time for.

    And also R&R. Brush off a couple of bottles of rum. Ordered some Tuscany wines that comes tomorrow etc. So drunk training while riding a snowmobile it is!
