Sind there'll be a time when even the neckbeardiest of us will grow bored of gaming all day, let's post what else we're doing to stay reasonably sane.

Work/home office stuff may or may not count.

For today I'll be gaming, but come Monday I'll set up my home office.

Projects:

I have a Telecaster in need of new pots and three way switch. I have those already so I'll do that at one point. I also have a few raspberries and a camera module. I'll see what I can do with that. Oh and an e-ink screen I wanted to use to display pi hole stats.

What are y'all going to do?

I cleaned up my office so I now have room to actually paint. Still waiting for models to come in, but I have terrain I'm painting for a friend primed and ready to go. Should keep me occupied between work, vidya and cooking.

I might actually have beervirus, although there's nothing to do but stay in place as usual for a few weeks. Symptoms are pretty mild cough and difficulty breathing and some stuffy nose. Could just as easily be allergies or a mild cold.

If I die I'm bequeathing my EVE account to razor.

i still have to go in, but we're doing a weekly rotation so this week i'm at home. plan is to go for a walk for what would otherwise be my commute (so 1hr in the morning), and then just wfh...

don't binge watch tv, don't play games 100% of the time, push yourself and do something new.

Making masks.

Currently trawling the patent database on passive and active electrostatic filters. Unsurprisingly, the Chinese patent a lot of mask/filter designs. I’m seeing if something can be hacked from ultra-fine copper mesh and cotton. Literature suggests it can, and works better than just cotton alone, as it causes small particles to coagulate into larger ones that the cotton fibers can intercept. Hope is to come up with something that filters noticeably better than a cotton mask, and can be heat sterilized every day.

Aside from that, this has been a great opportunity to catch up on all the around-the-house stuff I’ve put off. I’ve actually barely gamed at all in the last few weeks.

My workplace is still active at the moment but if we do get shut down I have an entire house worth of DIY to get stuck into on the place I bought 7 months ago.

edit: Been watching a lot of restoration videos (the ones where disembodied hands fix up broken, rusty gismos etc) lately. Might have a go at it myself.

Got to rototill 10 hectares. A lot of the Southern Highlands is organic certified and we have a literal organics mafia who appears to wag fingers and scowl if you even joke about using herbicide (or be me and ask the farm supply shop for 5000 liters of Roundup on my first visit as a joke), so you have to do it the old-fashioned way. I let the cows eat down the grass. Then to kill off the grass and weeds will take several rototills so I can plant barley at the start of April.

Then, gods of weather and pestilence willing, I will have a nice barley crop in spring which will be sold to become beer
