I do have this crazy idea, though. The randomly generated guns is awesome, and randomly generated terrain would be sweet. What about randomly generated vehicles, though?
I'd enjoy not having the same mobs respawn in the same spots any time you have to walk through an area to get to another area because you can't save the game at the second area.
Here's some ingame footage. Looks aight.

Did I see potato mashers in that video?
I think I did.
I didn't really encounter any trouble with having to re-kill mobs of baddies while I passed through areas, especially with the cars (although I wouldn't recommend driving into level 60+ large animals with the weak cars because they will explode on impact (the cars, not the spider ants / whatever)). The big exception to this though was the Knoxx DLC. Driving from one end of the highway to the other was a big pain in the butt, especially with the Crimson Lance roadblock in the one area that seemed to keep disappearing/reappearing depending which optional missions I was doing.

Suggest a "refill ammo to full" option if that isn't in the game already, or at least suggest no "are you sure?" popup for ammo purchaces.
I remember going "oh damn I need some more SMG bullets". shop -> select -> ENTER.ENTER.ENTER.ENTER.ENTER.ENTER.ENTER.ENTER.EN TER.
Also let the class mods make sense. Some of the +skills on some of them were totally useless (I'm looking at you, Gunslinger mod: +pistol Rate of fire, +pistol accuracy, +pistol ammo regeneration, +sniper rifle ammo capacity skill lolwut?)
What, I've never seen a gunslinger mod with sniper rifle anything. And I main-ed a gunslinger hunter.
Just FYI ... EVERYTHING borderlands is 75% off on steam this weekend, as I played it on xbox 360 previously, I am picking it up.
Borderlands + all 4 DLCs (claptrap, moxxie, knoxx, and Dr. Ned) for $12.49.
Will be starting a playthrough when my download finishes, steam account name tyrusenigma. I also have NFI how steam works as this is the second game (after Magika) that I bought on steam so yeah.
I tried to be cool and all I got was a lousy warning about my sig being too big.
New patch for Borderlands coming in September, implements Steamworks and some sort of reporting software to help them figure out which weapons suck / areas aren't visited / etc. in order to make Borderlands 2 better.

That's pretty badass that they're patching stuff into the old game to test for the new game. Wish other developers would do that.
Edit: OK, I misunderstanderated. Leaving in the gun wank though.
Spoiler:
