that story is top post on reddit right now, pretty much every activision/blizzard related subreddit is on fire, users are going apeshit and other publishers and devs are piling on to grab players from whatever competing title they can.
Edit: blizzard's official subreddit has been closed, /r/activision every post is pretty much some variation of eat shit and die.
I doubt people will boycot WoW, HS, CoD and Diablo to such a degree Blizzard has to anger China.

yeah but if they take a hard enough hit in the short term activision will take away whatever's left of their autonomy, and activision is no better at keeping acquired studios alive than EA is.

There are better card games than HS and current WoW is trash, Diablo immortal is a joke and the Blizzard games that people are most excited for are WoW classic of 15 years ago and Warcraft 3 of 17 years ago
I was a huge blizzard fanboy back in the day but I cannot help being disillusioned. From the people I know who work and worked there, they do not even treat the employees fairly. So fuck em. They are just a trash company nowadays and I do not feel bad for missing out on their future products.

It's a sad state of affairs that Tencent having 5-6% (correct me if wrong) of their shares has this much pull. Also makes total sense from bussiness perspective, Diablo: Immortal is millions to be made considering chineese spending habits in mobile titles.
