Three years out, oof. Won't back it, but if it reviews well I'll pay full price at launch.
Will it be an Epic Game Store exclusive though?
Gearbox anywhere near it is kinda shit.
50$ for the game that might happen in 3 years and be epic only, no thanks
NOPE
I love homeworld as much as anyone but come on. Shitty trailer. Gearbox publishing. BBI having only done deserts of kharak (a shit game). 3 year expected release that will probably be early access for 2 years beyond that.
It shouldn't be so easy to play you some flute music over some engine trails and harvest $$$. Have some perspicacity.
Poland treats me like shit and I hate them as a result of it
Music was great too. Haven't played it, but saw streams of it and it felt like a Homeworld game, down to the last bit.
Deserts of Kharak was good you fucking mong
a touch nonsensical in places (unit names being fleet inspired being the nonsensical, but also kind of cool bit), but genuinely good, tracked carriers battling it out in a desert over ancient artefacts and the very survival of the species.
plus BBI fucking nailed the art style.

Viking, n.:
1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.
Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.
Who even plays HW games for the gameplay, and not for the better-than-every-AAA-title-cutscenes/storytelling?
To me, a HW game is not as much about the mechanics of the games, as it's the lore and all the aesthetics. Now, even 20 years later, and for the n'th time I see it, that opening cutscene in HW1 STILL gives me the goosebumps.
Even Cataclysm (now called Emergence), hits all the things just right, to make it a Homeworld game, even though it's not at all the same developers. That crazy underdog story, with the tribal, "modern" society.
I just want the boys at BBI to make the best Homeworld game they can, and not some watered down version like HW2 became (Due to bad stuff between Relic and Sierra, but go read up on Dust Wars if you're intrigued).
There is so much potential in the franchise, we still got a galaxy of wonders and threats to discover (Origin of the Ghost Ship? Or the Beast? Civilizations akin to the Kadeshi?).
If anyone can make HW3 great, it's the dudes at BBI, which is also why I'll be pre-ordering/backing with the Collectors Edition (Need some more CE stuff besides the HW:Remastered Collectors Edition I got on my shelf).
Dont burn me on the stake but Cataclysm was actually the best multiplayer of the 3
