Unfortunately the entire fleet looks deeply horizontal to the point of looking squashed:

They remind of the nu-eve ships honestly. Bit too refined and clean when we want more asymmetry
    Hey, it's got vertical asymmetry!

That being said I'm happy there are still RTS games in development.

I know what you mean, I think it's just the effect of them being kinda triangular from the front, with wide tops and narrow bottoms. When when you take a picture from slightly above the bottom seems to disappear, making them look flat and squished.

I think. That's just speculation, it's also possible that the picture has been messed with. Or that the designs are just kinda funky.

Due to popular demand the mothership can now rotate.

Depending on the materials (ie, how shitty is the plastic), not a bad Collector's Edition at all.. And yes, the Khar-Kushan can be displayed either horizontal or vertical

I'd had pre-ordered a copy of the game with the original homeworld artbook if the fucking assholes had charged a bit less than the absurd $300 for a 220 page book.

I did pre-order, and at the 300$ tier, so I got the artbook already and will get all of what's in the picture. I missed out on the first edition of The Art of Homeworld, so I wouldn't miss the chance of getting the second edition. The whole setup is gonna look absolutely amazing next to my CE of HW:Remastered.
Even though it's "only" 220 pages, it's really good quality, the paper is thicc and to give you an estimate of the "thickness" of the book, it's about the same as Templar One, which is about 450 pages or so.

I find the idea of locking the homeworld art book (which clearly would have a substantially larger audience if it was priced like a normal art book and not a scarcified collectable) quite sad particularly given the art design focus of the game. I have quite a few "fancy" artbooks, and none of them come in at $125 for a 200 page book and require you to buy it as part of a $300 bundle you may not want.

Hate the mothership. 2D ship in a game famous for 3d.... why? Also looks really low polycount (as do most of the ships).

Really not loving any of the ships or the look of the engine full stop, really doesnt look like 2022.

Homeworld has always had rather low poly models, heavily leveraging texture layers to really flesh out the details. They Vaygr destroyer for instance has less than 2000 faces, the hiigaran carrier just over 3100, in HW2RM. I personally am holding off judgement until we see some models that are truly finished with all texturing.
