Forgot how dope it is, esp. the Enhanced Edition.

doing the same, and trying to force myself not to cheese too much.

    Mordekainen sword is best spell.

I did the twisted runes encounter, I had trouble with the lich that spawns in the entry way so I ring of the ram'ed him back with the rest of his squad a second before minsc one hit killed him with azuredge. Made me laugh out loud. That weapon is sold for 3800 gold , hits like a +3 weapon, can be thrown and destroys undead on a failed saving throw. If you haste a character with it you get a vampire killing machinegun, even more so if you greater malison them beforehand.

    It's criminally underrated.

Running around with viconia, minsk, jaheira and the new thief Hexxat as a pure sorcerer main.

I think I finished bg1 and bg2 so many times but never ever with pure evil team.
If only I had enough time...

never did an evil team either, BG2 EE has new NPC's that are evil so you can flesh out a team better, the base game didn't have the best lineup for evil.

Viconia is the only evil char in the team you will ever need.

Stacking magic resistance on her is pretty good, IIRC you can get to about 90% MR

All this thread does for me, is confirmation that BG2 was the best RPG ever made.

I always had her in my party when I was younger, I guess that's were my penchant for slightly bitchy women comes from lol.

and yeah, bg2 is the best RPG ever made in my book. There is so much stuff to do and things to see. The writing is good while not being overly serious, humour is used well and the main arc is engaging and challenging.

As a whole package, bg2 probably wins yeah. It's really got a bit of everything done well.

Finished BG1, I have a feeling they made the Sarevok fight bit harder. Now chewing through Siege of Dragonspear - it's good. Real quality stuff. It serves as a good bridge between the games, I always felt that waking up in Irenicus' dungeon was a bit wtf moment after killing Sarevok.

Someone doesn't remember how OP multi- or dual-class rogues were in BG1, or that shadow leather armor you could farm.

I am as hyped for another BG as the next guy, but does that vid not look pretty janky to anyone else? I am getting strong Dragon Age vibes.

I've been hailing DOS and 2 as true BG successors since they were released, while Pillars being nostalgia trip not moving genre forward. I'm very happy with this development and am 99% sure they will deliver. Also mad props for using Nautiloid instead of cookie cutter fantasy stuff that already has old fan base here raging notmybg, while I get to be elitist about it.
