THORN Syndicate is reforming!

Here's the history I know (there's more to be filled in soon^TM). THORN was in Mostly Harmless when I joined early in MAX2. Soon thereafter we left with a handful of other MH corps to start Controlled Chaos (WTF) and take up residence in Pure Blind and later Vale of the Silent while fighting off more or less the rest of EVE. As the latest (DRF) invasion of the North was ramping up THORN split up and the THORN name was placed into hibernation while spawning Element115. and Sick Tight.

I stayed with Sick Tight in WTF and we fought from Geminate to Tribute until it finally fell. Soon thereafter, Sick Tight left Pure Blind and WTF for BricK sQuAD. In BricK sQuAD., the Sick Tight corporation is generally recognized for being "FC Heavy" and PVP focused. Sick Tight is now merging with select prior members of THORN to reconstitute the corp, its name, and make its mark on BricK sQuAD.

THORN left Brick sQuAD for Initiative Mercenaries [along with Shiva and Reliables] in an attempt to form a USTZ in the Initiative Family. We spent 5 months on contract in Venal fighting The Man (aka goons) with great success. Upon completing the contract, with Shiva and Reliables chosing to leave IM, we opted to re-activate THORN Alliance and focus on our corp for a bit. That's where we're at atm.

Let me be clear:

1. Lucian James' fleets best fleets.
2. we have the only 13yr old FC in EVE and shit, he's even pretty decent.
3. drink, smoke, drink, drink!

We also have more run-of-the-mill FCs too, I'm just hitting some highlights. Some of the common types of fleets our FCs lead include:

1. drunken frigate roams halfway across eve and back (these usually last until everyone has died)
2. T2 frigate roams, EAF, inty, faction frigs, dictors
3. Sniper/Nano BC or HAC
4. Recons, bombers (incl blops)
5. Shield/Arty BS
6. Our exclusive asscats fleet doctrine

Some other important facts:

1. We are currently based in The Forge, low-sec near Geminate and Etherium Reach.
2. Offer pilots a Ship Replacement Program.
3. Provide logistics services, free of charge, for our members.

What are your responsibilities?
None really, it's a game and you can fuck off anytime.

Though, if you want to be part of the corp you might think about:

1. Actively engaging in PVP in a focused and yet light-hearted manner.
2. Flying logistics ships for your corp and alliance mates on occasion.
3. Being on Mumble as often as you can while logged into EVE.
4. Being easy to get along with and not a massive emofag (don't worry alpha, you're exempt as you're 13 and all).

We do have some industrial activity which takes place for specific purposes. But in general, if you want to mine or rat or whatthefuckeverelse in 0.0, perhaps we shouldn't be your first choice.

everyone has their bad moments, and sometimes that damnable system was infact your only chance of getting a kill in PB


i think there was at least 2 full days worth of eve-o where trimarksomething, evoke, cry havoc, darkside, ROL, or whoever else werent actively burning the region, so i can only assume it was one of those....

Yeah, I think alpha learned to eventually just stay the fuck out of EC-. Such a shithole. I was actually in his first official NC fleet which I think Lucian sponsored him on though he was not in THORN at the time. He setup a pos bash of a Cry Havoc moon in Placid. He brought a raven, lol. Naturally we got hotdropped and believe it or not, had a pretty amazing fight. We didn't RF the POS but, that wasn't really the point.

People learn. Though he still tried to bring a raven to a fleet last week

he hasnt whelped any ships on the ops ive been on with him. that instantly makes him better than a lot of fc's ive flown with tbh...

the *vast* majority of fc's are terrible, but they have the virtue of being over the age of 18, so people seem to feel they need more respect. alpha might be young but he does a good job as far as i have seen, despite the occasional gaff.

I think you're remembering things incorrectly. I was part of the same fleet, and he didn't scout it nor plan it. It was originally an FA op that Raven Shadows, Krimson Goddess and I planned and scouted to grab high value moons in Placid. We initially planned to hit moons in Athounon, not Cry Havoc's because we anticipated a heavy response but some other random alliance. This was planned as an FA only Op but on the day of we got a shitty pilot turnout because FA is a terrible alliance and it was even more terrible then.

Consequently, the leadership went and asked FCON for help and originally the fleet was going to be turned over to an "NC FC" because of this. The FC turned out to be alphastarpilot despite the fact that he'd never FC'd before. He took three hours forming up during which we lost several Logi en route and should have scrapped the op because our timetable for reinforcement was blown and we didn't have the Logi we should have anyway. We then proceeded to Athounon and commenced to engage the wrong POS (at alphastarpilot's direction). We were then informed not to shoot any neutrals because alpha was getting some Faction Warfare scrubs to camp the entry gate for us and all our scouts were pulled off the gate. Sometime later after very ineffectually hitting the POS, a neutral Devoter warped into the middle of us and we were informed not to shoot at it once again, because all neutrals were friendly. Then it dropped a cyno and a Cry Havoc AHAC gang bridged into the middle of us and commenced to rape.

At this point, alphastarpilot amused us all with a 60 second shrill scream on comms to the effect of "warpwarpwarpwarpwarpwarpwarp...." After finally managing to get into a safespot and start bouncing, he ordered the fleet to logoff despite the fact that everyone had aggression. Those of us who weren't retards dropped comms and proceeded home.

In all, alphastarpilot is probably better or as good as most shitty sov alliance FCs. So I'll grant you that point.

Hahaha. That sounds like the Alphastarpilot I knew back in Blade. Always trying to FC things he had no experience with, such as a bomber fleet. And on one occasion, taking over FC of a successful gatecamp and turning it into a welp, alienating allied alliance members, and making people quit fleet so they wouldn't have to listen to his delusions of grandeur. And all in a matter of minutes too.

Even as a rank-and-file pilot, he was pretty terrible.

Perhaps then we're remembering different events. Though I do recall CH bridging ahacs I recall a better fight than us being raped. Though we didn't kill the POS we did get (and give) GFs in local and gave as much as we got. But in the end you're correct, alpha did better than most FCs. Alpha was in Raven if that rings a bell, I flew a raptor v0v, which I still have to this day.
