Is this accurate? Is France actually more restrictive than the Mississippi law that was what the SC ruled on (which was, if I recall, set at 15 weeks).
Its quite possible that it's correct. Slovenia has even more restrictive law that says that abortion is possible up to 10th week without review. But that doesn't mean its impossible to do one afterwards but a panel of doctors reviews the request. But afaik the norm is to approve. The law is from 1977. Stats apparently say 92% of abortions are up to week 10.

    I mean, it's definitely spin.

France has on-demand abortions up to 14 weeks, formerly 12. Beyond that if two physicians say giving birth will cause grave permanent injury to mental health, one can still have an abortion. In practice this is relatively easy to obtain and uncontroversial. There are no limits for abortion for foetal impairment or for serious threat to the health of the mother.

Executive leadership with Dick’s Sporting Goods announced the company will provide employees up to $4,000 in abortion-related travel reimbursements if they live in a state that restricts access to the procedure.

Abortions are way cheaper than maternal leave and social infrastructure for new parents.
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

Appoint judges in a bi-partisan political process, get these results.

Imagine the difference if ever being a member of a political party disqualified you from holding a seat at the supreme Court.

Bipartisan system itself is just an accident waiting to happen.

The judicial system should be completely decoupled from politics, same for policing. But you have always had that weird fetish for governors etc having the power to pardon people and thus overturn what ever remnants of justice system you might have.

So it turns out that Trump really did try to go to the Capitol on Jan. 6th. And then got really mad when the Secret Service said "no, we're not going there" and tried to hijack the car.

In my experience those monotheistic cults quickly stick together when an "outsider" challenges them, i.e. let a Jedi or Pastafarian or acolyte of the First Church of Satan practice their rites there. All three kinds of them, imams, priests and rabbis will crawl out of the woodwork and point out how these are not real and have no right to do so.

Athletes praying to God is one of the best jokes of religion. As if "The One Above" whoever they believe in is a fan with a beergut that watches the game on a magic telly

Breaking now, the hits keep coming: SCOTUS breaks the back of Federal Regulatory power ruling against the EPA's ability to regulate power generation emissions.

Supreme Court curbs EPA’s ability to fight climate change

    From CNN's Ariane de Vogue

The Supreme Court curbed the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to broadly regulate carbon emissions from existing power plants, a major defeat for the Biden administration's attempts to slash emissions at a moment when scientists are sounding alarms about the accelerating pace of global warming.

In addition, the court cut back the agency's authority in general invoking the so-called "major questions" doctrine — a ruling that will impact the federal government's authority to regulate in other areas of climate policy, as well as regulation of the internet and worker safety.

The ruling was 6-3. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the opinion for the conservative majority, with the three liberal justices dissenting.

The decision is one of the most consequential cases for climate change and clean air in decades.
This one is going to have HUGE ramifications, not just on climate, but everywhere that Government regulates in the U.S.

    Another massive win for Trumperism.

I don't get the tin foil hat aspect here, you'll have to spell it out for me, I'm slow.

Looks to me like Dems desperate to avoid Trump 2.0 are doing the little they can (and be assured, it's very little in real world effectiveness IMO, Trump voters and most "average citizens" are mostly ignoring it completely), while The Far Right is winning case after case after case after case in the newly Talibanesque SCOTUS.

    Regulating Guns, Trump won.

    Praying Public Employees, Trump won.

Public Money for Private Religious Schools, Trump won.

Crushing the Regulatory State, Trump won.

Ending Roe v. Wade, Trump won.

It's no fucking surprise the right has all but deified Trump at this point. Hate him as much as we like, he's delivered almost everything he promised the far right because of those Justices now on the Court. With lifetime appointments, it's not gonna change any time soon.
