So you think we didn't have any social programs before we found the oil? I know you are a Swede, so that kind of absolve you when speaking utter nonsense but even a Swede can't possibly be this dumb.
And yet he clearly is, so I guess you're both in need of an updated world-view.

Lacking critical thinking is something you excel at.

How much of Norway's economy depends on oil? A majority of it. Without it, youd struggle to fund many of the social programs you got going right now.

"The top exports of Norway are Crude Petroleum ($28.1B), Petroleum Gas ($27.7B), Non-fillet Fresh Fish ($5.61B), Refined Petroleum ($4.81B) and Raw Aluminium ($3.12B), using the 1992 revision of the HS (Harmonized System) classification."

You live on oil and you die by the oil.

Helgur probably forgets that life expectancy and population was a bit lower, same as running costs of living. Almost every other developed country is facing these problems, norway is not immune - just well padded.

Not many, we wouldn't have any was your assertion. Yet the same generous pension, unemployment benefits and social security are exactly the same and as generous today as it were before we drilled after oil.

No one is denying that we have benefited hugely from the income from petroleum. You pull that up like it's a revelation, lol.

Besides only a small fraction of the petroleum money actually get spent on our fiscal budgets. The majority of it is saved or reinvested into the pension fund. Most of it isn't used.

Anyway, I've had enough of this silly discussion back to mocking the state of things over the pond plox

"MSNBC Is the Most Influential Network Among Liberals—And It’s Ignoring Bernie Sanders"

I thought this article was from 2016 at first..

But no there is no such thing as an organized campaign by corporate media against democratic socialists/antiwar candidates

I think it's less of an organized conspiracy, and more a function of the people who are most likely to get those jobs as anchors being the ones that most protect the status quo the execs prefer. More reflexive than conscious, if you will.

edit: that said, Obama straight up saying that he'd have to get involved if Sanders seemed likely to win the nomination is a whole 'nother level of Fuck You Got Mine.

Yeah in that article he was griping about how Warren and Sanders are running on policies that would replace his legacy.

I think that's mostly about the legacy and image Obama is obsessed with.

DNC corruption pulling a Bernie maneuver on Tulsi Gabbard:

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/gabbar...r_3161373.html
The Democratic National Committee is refusing to accept a poll that shows Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) at six percent, according to the Democratic presidential contender.

The committee, known as the DNC, has recognized Suffolk University as one of the accepted pollsters for debate qualifying purposes when it carried out a poll for USA Today but the committee declined to accept a Suffolk poll conducted for the Boston Globe, Gabbard’s campaign said.

“Again, this is another example of the DNC being arbitrary and inconsistent. New Hampshire is the first in the nation presidential primary, but the DNC has not shown its voters the respect they deserve,” Gabbard said in a statement.
    ...
Gabbard already has three qualifying polls, including an Emerson University poll also released this week that shows her with six percent support. If the Suffolk poll is counted, she would be assured a spot in the debate because she has already met the fundraising requirements.

Perhaps she'd be happier in a more homophobic party?
