Sure, it's not all their fault, but they are absolutely trying to make the divide into a chasm to weaken the party. A few of Reddit's most rabidly pro-Bernie communities are/were believed to be as influenced by foreign propaganda as the most insane pro-Trump ones. No surprise that while the more sane communities were saying "Well, shit, guess we gotta vote for Biden," the rabid ones were screaming about the DNC and voting for Trump out of spite.
considering that republicans versus democrats is a choice without a difference on a enormous swathe of policy issues trying to shift the democrats left or cause the party to self-destruct to be able to build a alternative in the void left behind strikes me as the sort of thing that is fairly reasonable to do.

incidentally, the actual upvoted posts at places like r/ChapoTrapHouse is not "vote Trump!" it's "don't vote Biden" and that place has so much edge it's perpetually in danger of bleeding out.
Chapo and the rest of the dirtbags can fuck right off and die though

if you're pandering to somebody on the other side of the planet in a completely different country, you're doing it terribly terribly wrong in the first place.

besides how is the "i want the whole cake!" stance wrong considering how hard the democrats compromise to the right ? Obamacare's foundations where written by the heritage foundation of all people and then compromised to the right from there, with negotiation tactics like that, why not be flat out unreasonable ?

beyond that, there is also the messaging, compare "medicare for all" to "medicare for some, pending some means-testing we haven't worked out yet!" in terms of resonance with voters.

Most Americans see no material difference to their lives if a Democrat or republican is in the whitehouse. All that changes is how much faux anger their chosen news network hosts have.

Their lives get gradually more expensive and their pay checks last slightly fewer days in the month.

Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

Sure, but that doesn't stop me from having a bit of empathy for the people whose lives are impacted by an openly murderous regime, even if I'm not one of them.

Hopefully we can get some of our other citizens to figure that out too.

It's amazing to still see the obligation being put on voters to care enough to vote defensively rather than policymakers offering something to vote for proactively. We tried this already and it didn't work.

Half of the service industries are out of work, we're predicted to hit 20-30% unemployment, there will be tens of millions of people getting kicked off their insurance plans, Tyrell corp now controls the city state of Los Angeles etc

Annnnnd the Biden campaign has proposed lowering Medicare eligiblity from 65 to...60.

I mean, we knew it was happening, but to have it laid out so starkly is kinda rough.

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/08/polit...vor/index.html

[Dem Representative] DeGette said that the decision to award 100 ventilators followed a tortured process after the state's delegation and Democratic Gov. Jared Polis had been asking for 10,000 ventilators.

But while they were waiting for an answer from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Polis reached a deal with a private company for 500 ventilators to be sent to the state. Once FEMA got word of the state deal, the federal agency stepped in to prevent that contract from going through so it could acquire the ventilators instead, Polis said on CNN last week.

[GOP Senator] Gardner then called Trump on Tuesday night, and the President tweeted Wednesday that the state would get 100 ventilators from the federal stockpile at the Republican senator's request. Gardner is one of the most vulnerable Republican senators up for reelection.
The administration is using FEMA to get hold of ventilators that the states are trying to acquire, so they can dole out those ventilators to their friends. Democratic governor asks FEMA for help? Crickets. Republican senator from the same state? Immediate response.

Clearly working as intended. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature of the federalism emergency response.

It's already way worse. The thing people don't get with Biden's sundowning is we're just gonna replicate the Trump whitehouse with all the palace intrigue and evil opportunists trying to slip their agenda past a guy who doesn't know what day it is.

That means people like Jamie Dimon and Larry Summers will be completely unrestrained

As weak as Obamacare was, I have had health care available to me (albeit at significant cost) that would not have been under a Republican administration, and would have either resulted in crippling debt and possibly loss of my business, or a significant reduction of quality of life, and probable eventual death.

The environment and global community have been EXTREMELY impacted by the Trump admin, in some ways that can never be repaired.

Sure, the dems suck and Biden sucks, but we are at a moment of history that decades from now, when we are living in corporate owned biodomes to shield from the apocalyptic hellscape, future people will think how foolish we were not to do everything in our power to stop Trump.

Yeah. As someone whose life is in fact affected by "pre-existing conditions", Obamacare was 1000% percent better than what was before, because I wasn't enslaved to my employer afterwards in fear for my family because if I lost my job, they would lose the group plan that was the only way they could even get health care.
