I'm wondering if the fracking bubble explodes in 2020 if that'd affect the elections... Probably it's too early, but there are some signs:

I'm expecting a lot of big state help to prop up the companies one year and avoid shakes in 2020, and then - whoopsie! - they all go bust and taxpayer money is used to clean up the wells.

At least over the past week is has been good to see the DNC finally finding the balls to stand against something they disagree with. It is just a shame it happens to be Sanders having a shot at the candidacy after 4 years of Trump.
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

So this is the Oligarch the DNC is pandering to:

"95% of murderers...are male, minorities, 16 to 25.... You've got to get the guns out of the hands of the people that are getting killed...put all the cops in minority neighborhoods...throw them up against the walls and frisk them"

Bernie told a black reporter that more minorities are in jail because they do more drugs into 2015. Stuff like this doesn't mean anything.

The other week you were saying that people should learn this system better and read the fine print on their plans to avoid getting screwed

Republican values - "We'll throw you in prison"
Democrat values - "Finish your homework, or we'll throw you in prison"
Really? Because I’ve literally been an advocate for single payer the entire time I’ve posted on FHC or it’s predecessor. Medical care will never be affordable while an entire parasitic industry sits between the population and access.

Which other “democrat values” do you think I espouse?

I’m registered to vote without party affiliation, btw.
Doesn't matter. You'll fail the purity test no matter what you say or stand for. It's designed only to make the mewninn's of the world feel good about themselves.
Oh I know how fucking insufferable and annoying I can be. But that's what happens after I use my savings (lol) to pay for my mom's health issues

What are you being insufferable for though? Far as I can tell it's for absolutely nothing
Do you think it might be anything to do with you being an absolute cunt to him for years?
Don't worry it's not just him, I hate most of the UK posters by default

New Hampshire is 50% in and...
    Sanders 27%
    Buttigieg 24%
    Klobuchar 20%
    Warren 9%
    Biden 9%
    Steyer, Gabbard, Yang 3-4% each

Warren and Biden are almost certain to miss the 15% threshold for delegates and come away with nothing. Ouch.

Klobuchar and Buttigieg have gone all in on the first two states and have little money and little campaign presence in the next two states, let alone the rest, and Super Tuesday is rolling towards them like the winds of doom.

Sanders looks a bit like there's about a 30%ish pro Bernie vote and about a 65% anyone but Bernie vote which is not great. He may thread the needle against a lamentable table of weak centrists but if the centrist vote coalesces quickly he may be in trouble.

Yang has dropped out. Imo this is a shame as he was a much better candidate than his polling suggested. It's possible that Bernie might get a point or two from Yang voters.

Biden holding ~35% in the polls from people not yet paying attention on name recognition has really hurt the race.

Warren is reportedly having money issues and doesn't have a clear path to recovery although she does have a campaign infrastructure so if she stays in she might be able to beat Pete/Amy in Nevada. Of course her campaign is infested with ex-Clintonites who fuck up everything they touch so maybe not.

That just doesn’t follow. First off, Sanders got much closer to 50% of the vote in 2016, and won plenty of primaries with more than 50%. Also, pretty sure general sentiment favors uniting around whoever the nominee is. You can’t draw conclusions about like that about a ceiling based on available info. If anything, I’d say the never-Sanders camp is about the same size as the never-Obama camp, which was about 20%.

Perhaps I was inexact. I'm not trying to say that if Sanders becomes the nominee that 65% of Democrats wont vote for him.

What i'm trying to say is that at this point in the Primary if, say, Klobuchar drops out then almost all of her votes will go to another Centrist. Same with Pete. Same with Bloomburg. Maybe 2/3rd of Warren. Maybe half of Biden.

This seemed to be what happened in Iowa with second round votes... Sanders got a small bump but the centrists got ~3:1 of second round vote transfers and I wouldn't be shocked if most of Bernie's additional votes were from Yang supporters.

    Yes, that I agree with.

As long as the “establishment” vote is split, Sanders will continue to win primaries. He is likely to get a minority of, say, Biden’s voters when Biden drops out, etc., meaning that the sooner some of those folks drop out, the sooner one of them assembles a plurality of voters.

But as long as the rest of the field keeps reading second place, Sanders is not going anywhere. Bloomberg coming in on Super Tuesday just makes that even more likely, as Bloomberg will take votes from all the other centrist candidates.

It’s also worth noting that all three centrists are cash-strapped at the moment, having expended everything on Iowa and New Hampshire.

In Iowa you need to account for the fact that Biden didn't make 15% in a lot of places that Warren did.

So I think that if Warren drops you can get a progressive consensus around Sanders.

I do think that Sanders and Warren are the only rep who can beat Trump on the economy, which is what I think matters.

I agree with that as well, though I am not sure that either Sanders or Warren can actually deliver a victory in November in the face of current historical and material conditions. I remain convinced that Sanders could have beaten Trump in 2016, but suspect that window may have closed.

I still suspect he’s the best candidate for the job, however. I think it’s safer to give voters a choice between two disruptive candidates than one disruptive candidate and a status-quo candidate, given the national (and global) mood.

Voting for Sanders to be president is not voting for Sanders to be president. It’s voting for his VP to be president.

Speaking of VP, are there any signs of what the tickets might be?

Sanders - Warren would be a dream ticket, tbh. Especially when one considers that Sanders might well not run for a second term.
