Sentries are nice, until they have almost no hit points and if they're primaried you spend more time bringing them back in and redeploying them that tbh fighters work nicely.

You can remote assign fighters but not FBs, c/d?:effort:

Before the FB nerf, they were worth using - 3 target painters + 24/5 FBs on a asteroid haven or something where they all spawn close together would make use of the ~10k DPS output but not now - they can barely hit BS.

What's the stats like with the drone damage mods and rig?
Something people always seem to forget when EFTing ratting sentry Carriers is that their Drone Control Range is only 60km. The control range bonus only applies to fighters.
Maybe they've changed anoms, but when I did them you had to be able to hit at 100km+ which means 2 Drone Link Augmentors, or one really expensive one. I also don't think you have enough lock range. The drones are unbonused, so with Carrier V you have 10 sentries vs 7.5 effective sentries on an Ishtar. It's not a big increase and it's not a lot of DPS, especially for the risk you take by being stationary.
If you want to rat in a Carrier then you might as well fit as many DCUs as you can (Adv. Drone Interfacing IV checking in). In my experience I found that Fighters worked better in practice, but I was dualboxing and had another ship shoot the frigs. Split the fighters into two groups to reduce the effects of travel time. With fighters you can also stay aligned and at jump cap more easily.
