Useful SQUIGLY Translation. Chinese bmp/jpg to text to english

I have been looking at taobao for nice cEVE accounts to buy, but I have hit my head against the wall that is squigly writing.
All of the accounts on that site have images of their skills, not text, so google translate is out

However, with a bit of googling, I found a free program that does OCR on chinese images so you can copy paste the output into google translate.


The app is here (I will mirror it if the link goes down).


So lets have a look at it eh?

This account has lots of images for skills.

Like this:



Now open it in some image manipulator and invert it, like this:



Open COCR and do File->Load image and point it to inverted.
Now move the square over the character, press + and - on keyboard to shrink the square to the character. Click it, and choose the matching symbol on the bar above the image. Once you have a line done, you can copy paste it from the right pane to google translate.

So this:


Becomes:

Device operating on the missile issue of Communicable


Note:
It isn't perfect, and doesn't recognize some of the symbols, but it does an ok job of it.

WOW, it's cool~


btw, buying on taobao is more expensive than buying on the bbs.
But when you contact the seller on the bbs , everyone upload their accounts to the shop on taobao ,then sells you the account on taobao, then always deletes it from taobao.
So searching on taobao can not search these tradition.

One important reason that you can get wonderful char on the bbs costing less is that some of the sellers do not want to sell the account to the account-merchant.
So they like to talk to the buyer to be sure that.

Are the accounts on the BBS full accounts or character transfer? Do you buy the account (user and password) or just the character to transfer to your existing account?

I'm assuming you speak fluent Chinese mono?
Would you like to act as an agent for me and help me buy an account on cEVE? I could pay a little isk or dollars if required. It is very difficult trying to negotiate a sale when I don't speak Chinese. :<

Most of them are character transfer.
And I recommend that you guys should only buy the character transfer, it is safe, especially for you who do not have real Chinese ID.

I dunno, looks like they don't take VISA/PayPal.

But I found this: http://taobaofocus.com/faq, which says it allows you to pay with an international VISA and they pay taobao on your behalf.

Im going to have to research this first to find the best way to pay taobao with my english visa first.

That's the point, try it ~~~~Taobao is working for protecting the buyer's right, it is easy to buy a char.
