Jesus christ, NZ are throwing today's ODI away vs South Africa in Napier. Doing fine for a while there at 163/2, nek minnit 184/7. This game is already over. >_<

The Australia v Sri Lanka tri-series finals just got interesting..
The final day of the 1st test between NZ and SA is well set up. NZ need 264 runs, SA need 8 wickets, but overnight rain in Dunedin will delay the start of today's play. Literally anything could happen, but I predict NZ will collapse under pressure and lose by 100-150 runs or so.
Good old rain lol.
Haven't been sleeping too well these last few weeks but it's given me the chance to get a decent look at the IPL for the first time. The points table is a fair reflection of the teams I think, DD/KKR/MI have been doing well while DC suck the big kumara. PW were mid-table early on but have fallen away drastically in the latter stages of the tournament. CSK or RCB to take the fourth semi-final spot.
Other cricket happening overnight my time has been the Windies, first at home v Australia and now away to England. Strauss with a good knock yesterday. The England team looks pretty good on paper atm, can't wait to see them v South Africa.
even Strauss can play all 5 day against the stupid bowling attack of India
WI down. All credit to their bowling attack, and their captain fro showing some skills.
nice to see Strauss back on form though.
That's what the best bowling attack in the world can do. Shame we are still terrible in the Sub-Continent.

I really wanted to watch more of this series, but the playing hours line up precisely with my normal sleeping hours. Fuck my timezone.
From what little I have seen of the odd first hour of morning play, I have to say it's amazing the difference a decent commentary team can make.
I'd be pretty shocked if the IPL wasn't fixed in some way, like italian football.
So NZ are touring the West Indies atm. First ODI underway, NZ bats first, makes 190/9, oh dear. Windies carving it up in reply, 93/1 off 18 overs... and it's started to rain. Need 20 overs per side for a result, trololol.
Edit: dawww, they came back on after a couple of hours, easy WI victory.

How si Australia taking the latest hammering ?
Have you guys even won a game in the last couple of years (vs England)?

Nobody cares about the ODIs. Let alone overseas ODIs. There was talk last summer of dropping them entirely and just doing test + T20, probably just channel 9 hurf blurf though.
Even test series overseas don't get much of a mention on the news unless it's the Ashes. And even then...
Seriously, all the news showed of the ODI loss was the sports anchor talking to the reporter in London for the Olympics, they didn't even show highlights or a scorecard. Kinda silly the difference between that and the games played here.
I watched a bit of it and Australia looked pretty slack tbh. End of a long season (fairly solid since last November) and only a short ODI series in England goes some way to explain it I guess. I thought we'd finally gotten rid of Johnson after last summer but he's back in all his mediocrity.

Pattinson... mediocrity... wtf?
That makes more sense![]()
Beginning of teh most anticipated test series for ages today.
England (World #1) vs South Africa (World #3)
Whoever wins this stays / becomes the top test team in the world.
And it#'s looking pretty good for England so far, except for the predicable loss of Strauss in the first over.
SA bowling attack doesn't seem to be showing it's teeth properly yet.
173/2 after Trott pulls a derpshot. How far can Pieterson push it though. I hope he gets a nice couple of hundred but you can never tell with this chap.

England being shit against real opposition as usual, hope to see some changes for the next game.

Yeah was a bit painful in the end. Still I think the next 2 tests should be interesting, hopefully we can level the series at Headingley to make for a great 3rd test.
Need to learn how to play defensively when up shit-creek
