    [PVP] Cormorant

What the tits, no cormorant of doom thread??
Well, here's two awesome sauce recipes for cormorant.
Both rely on people underestimating them, because corm is shit tbh.

Very effective at butchering frigs that think "Hey, a cormorant! Free kill!"

Haven't tried yet, but it should be somewhat viable.

Here's a fit that I use quite often, although you absolutely need to have awu5 and a +1% powergrid implant.

    125mm Railgun x7 (CN antimatter)

    Catalyzed Cold-gas arcjet thrusters
x5 prototype I engine enervator (alternatively, you can use tech II webs, which give you a slightly better bonus to speed reduction)
    x5 prototype I engine enervator
    Warp Scrambler II

    Magnetic Field Stabiliser

x3 Small Core Defence field extender (or one anti-em rig, but you really want to have as much shield hp as possible)

You have enough shield hp (surprisingly enough) to take on quite a few hits, but you have to be very careful around artillery, because anything larger than a thrasher will most likely pop you pretty quickly. You can switch it up the mwd for an afterburner, but you really, really need the speed. Otherwise, the stupid shit you can normally get away from in a frigate (say, cynabals) will catch you

you need a 1% PG with that, even with AWU V it doesnt fit.
the 125s have 15km range with the ship bonuses so it seems kinda pointless, the 75s have better fitting, better tracking, DPS isnt that much worse (20 difference but you can fit MFS and damage rigs, so it evens out).

    Edit : 16.6km/sec meh :s

Necroing because since destroyer and hybrid turret buff this has become a worthy substitute for a Thrasher imo. It has everything a destroyer needs: range(control) buffer, dps.

    [Cormorant, New Setup 1]

    Micro Auxiliary Power Core I

    Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
    Catalyzed Cold-Gas Arcjet Thrusters

125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
    [empty high slot]

    Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Core Defence Field Extender I
Small Core Defence Field Extender I

This fits with perfect skills, a genolution set and 5%PG hardwiring and has 0.69 PG left. Offers 170 DPS at 15+6.3 and 6600 HP. Without these implants one can downgrade gun after gun till it fits or use an ancillary current router.

There you go. No fancy implants needed and I even managed to squeeze a rocket launcher on. Keep in mind dessies still die when something sneezes on them. Personally I would be edgy about flying with expensive implants in one.

Was looking at whether it was possible to use Lord's harpy fit on a cheaper platform, not entirely happy that this is the optimal way to do it though =/

    also require AWU V i think ='''[

You gain a bit of dps/tracking, but lose all pretense of cap stability, what little tank you had takes the last train for the coast, and your speed also takes a running dive off of the empire state building.

Not even close to worth it imo.

I ran into a dual tracking disruptor 75mm fit. Can't imagine it would do much against anything with missiles, but it pwnt my arty thrasher and merlin

what on earth has cap stability and tank got to do with destroyers? fights last about 30 seconds.

True, it does do that. If you're just learning to fly my fit, yes it works, and is also much less forgiving so when u get the real thing ur like "zomg I'm so fuckin 1337 pr0 in this - it's EZ MODE compared to that corm."

    I would rather run this:

    [Cormorant, gatatatat]
    Micro Auxiliary Power Core II

    Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I
    Warp Disruptor II
Medium Ancillary Shield Booster, Navy Cap Booster 100

125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Plutonium Charge S
125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Plutonium Charge S
125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Plutonium Charge S
    [empty high slot]

    Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I
    Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
    Small Semiconductor Memory Cell I

Option to kite, or get in close. Tracking is no issue with 125s + ship bonuses + javelin (if needed). You lack dual webs for true :awesometackle:, but you make up for it with 2k extra raw shield HP, or ~3k more EHP.(basically double).

the polycarb has saved my life on multiple occasions from gatecamps. i'm hesitant to switch it out for more ehp or dps.

if you've got isk to spare throw a faction web on there to trap frigates out at 17ish km and apply dps

With everything running, Arc's fit has 15 seconds less caplife (total 1:20) compared to my rail catalyst. I've never had cap issues with the catalyst, and I can't imagine it would be a problem on this either. Fights are almost always over too quick for it to matter. Or you could load lead. :P

IFFA and pseudo both, fit needs a 1% CPU hardwire in either case, but yeah.
