Next week will probably show quite clear indication where this show is heading, unless the vote for May's precious deal gets delayed again.

If May delays again, the VONC will have a good chance of passing.

MPs will be allowed to vote on amendment saying Commons should decide on 'plan B' within three days if May's Brexit deal defeated
Remain MPs have tabled an amendment to the Brexit discussion bill that forces May to come back with plan B within 3 days of losing a vote on plan A. This stops her from running the clock down and playing brinkmanship with no deal. In itself this is a big deal and will probably pass.

But the biggest issue is that the government (and most experts) thought that this bill couldn't be amended, based on the arcane rules of parliamentary procedure that make up much of the UK's unwritten constitution. The speaker of the HoC, who is pro-remain (and incidentally a dick) has decided that this amendment can be debated. Expect constitutional fireworks.

It's sort of annoying how this is happening so late in the whole process, not least because society is hurtling towards oblivion but mainly because the general public has lost all interest and is following everything in much the same way a dog follows a conversation being had by its owners.

It's going to be interesting. Can parliament make it 5 defeats in 4 weeks. I think it can.

In defence of Bercow (who is, indeed, a dick), he's doing his job as speaker of the house in that he's defending the perogative of parliament against the government's continuous and continuing attempts at undermining it.

Well we had to get the all-important internal Tory party squabbles sorted first.

    Priorities!
