I can't see how the nurses can use strike action as a bargaining chip with the government given the media environment is totally hostile. They might have a little more support than junior doctors did but I don't have high hopes for the electorate seeing past the bullshit about no money being left.

Why would they strike? I assume you guys have been giving them an occasional applause for their services?

Real talk... Nurses are generally pretty well paid for their skillset. Those having a rant about a 1% increase in pay (which is 1% more than the rest of the public sector)... not all nurses are 'front line'. Those who have worked through the pandemic will have been well compensated via overtime payments. RCN is putting out dubious figures re: pay and whatnot.
