Looks like things are starting to turn for Alexander de Pfeffle. No, i'm not on about us plebs actually holding him to account, but the MSM is looking increasingly like they are wringing Idiot Johnson out to dry. This latest debacle wiith the parties at whitehall et al seems to be splashed all over a lot of front pages (but forget about the upcoming demolition of the NHS, right to protest, brexit customs shitstorm and stealth taxes as non of that matters), where it may actually have an impact.
If Labour get in on the next election pass (and thats a big if due to the stupidity of the UK electorate), they should look very pointedly at the media barons and how much sway they hold over public facing UK politics (as well as a host of other measures like FPTP, electrorial bounderies, corporation taxes, money laundering, offshoring etc).

Picking anyone from the current tory front bench looks to be another long term trainwreck (lucky they have a couple of years to find someone better, before it matters :/ ). Alexander de Pfeffle picked his cabinet well, in that all those around him appear either as contemptuous as himself or as incompetent. The cabinet was picked based on their allegiance/subservience to Johnson, rather than any ability to do the job proffered to them in any sensible or proficient manner. I'm guessing Johnson, or likely his PR people were fully aware there were an awful lot of skeletons in Johnson’s closets and his ability to fuck things up through his own arrogance and chasing his own ego are very well documented. From his time in college to his time as foreign secretary, Johnson has left a trail of dumpster fires and failures behind him and his time as PM, if nearly over, is just another sign of that.As is Liz Truss.
What amazes me is that it seems like the other plebs who I’ve talked to didn't have a clue about Johnsons past, pre-election, and thought of him as just the bumbling funny buffoon. Which begs the questions of why the majority UK can't be arsed to do even a basic check into whether the person they are voting for is an utter sociopath or that the think electing a bumbling buffoon to run the country is in any remote way a good idea.

The latest round of polls has Labour 4-9 points ahead, so it looks as though Partygate is having an effect.
Most of those polls show Tory voters switching to "don't know" rather than over to Labour, which means that ditching Boris and a lick of paint may be enough to bring those voters back. Labour's done a good job of going after Boris on this recently, they need to now embed a notion that it's the lot of them rather than just him in the public's mind now.
And even with that sort of swing, Labour would still not have an overall majority.
