Can fellow germans elaborate? What's so bad about it? Concrete desert? On pictures it looks like any other financial hub.
It's the only(!) city in Germany with actual skyscrapers. The city was flattened in the war and was rebuilt in the 60s and looked like it. They actually just last year finished rebuilding their historical town center. Unlike other cities that had old buildings to work with, they started from scratch. Thus it is rather artificial compared to any other town.

Due to being a financial hub in a valley, affordable housing is probably rare. But that's an issue in pretty much every big city in Germany.

Truly modern buildings are the most evil of all things.

Hmm, when you say it's has been rebuilt in 60s I have rather firm imagining of socialist realism mixed with modernism and brutalism but surely that's not the case as it's on the other side of the wall. Or is it? Pictures I've seen look like generic financial district with skyscrapers.

It's been rebuilt many times since, hence the skyscrapers.

It’s even worse. It’s a city with euro sized streets, so, much less spacious than american cities.

So is Miami and NYC, so I don't get it. I googled and agree with rufuske that the pics look like any other business hub.

TBF last year was Mandleson's bi-millennial shedding, so his current vessel is quite fresh .

This doesn't seem like the unity candidate we all voted for...
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

Corbyn is looking like a better leader than Starmer at this point in time. Starmer seems to have done nothing to hold the government to account over the last 6 months of tory corruption and incompetance apart from political points scoring at PMQ's (which he does appear good at). In bringing in the old/new labour vampire, and turning to a strategy of targeting the 'patriotic' (yeah, hes trying to appeal to the retarded semi-racists) to gain pwer, i really don't like where the party is heading. Populism seems to be a race to the bottom for justice and equality and, against the tories, you are gonna loose every time as they have less scruples about being utter dishonest cunts (don't argue with idiots as they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience).

I'm pretty worried about where the political class within the UK is taking us all. The tories seem increasingly headed towards a russian style oligarchy (direct control of NHS, direct control of BBC, direct control of civil service, reduction in regulation for industry, increasingly opaque tax regulation, less ability for law and justice departments to perform their tasks) and a further shift in financial pressure from the haves to the have-nots (yeah, that CV19 £2trill spending binge will need to be paid back by someone), i'm looing at the future with pretty much fuck all optimism.

I really cannot get my head around why people vote tory unless they are in the top 10% or business owners as everyone else just ends up getting fucked by them, but then i look at the alternatives and well ... giant deuche or shit sandwich.
Shitting up eve for .... well, longer than most of you scumbags.

Smegs, you lead with he's not holding them to account then level criticism of political point scoring. I'm curious what Starmer can do as leader of the opposition that isn't just point scoring?

He has only the power to embarrass the government into changing policy and the only way to embarrass a government cabinet is to score points against individuals' performance because they just ignore actual policy argument.
